I can't believe everyone in this comment section, and every list of continuity errors I've seen, missed what I consider the top continuity error in this great show. It's definitely top ten.
Season 2, episode 9, Eggs, Cece finds out that if she wants kids she has to start right now. Fast forward four years into the future in season 6, episode 22, Five Stars for Beezus. Cece gets pregnant and absolutely no mention is made of how miraculous it is that she got pregnant. Fast forward three more years to season 7, episode 6, Mario. Schmidt is nervous about getting Cece pregnant again, seven years after Cece was told she was running out of time to get pregnant. Go ahead to the end of season 7, episode 8, Engram Pattersky. They do a flash foward in the characters' lives and show us that Schmidt and Cece have a 2nd child named Moses.
Cece's entire plot line in season 2 after episode 9 is based on the fact that she has to get pregnant ASAP if she ever wants a child. It's why she broke up with Robby. It's why she let her mother arrange a marriage. The writers obviously forgot season 2 existed.
I love New Girl, but the writers were horrendous at maintaining continuity.

-Another editing error was S3ep8, Nick puts an entire dumpling in his mouth and the next cut he has half the dumpling between the chopsticks.
-When Jess and Cece had their huge fight, Cece says when they were 10 she saw a movie with Jess P before her, but in the injury episode Cece says her dad was 12 when she died, but when there is a flashback of Cece meeting Jess (I was your first student) she said her dad had just died.
-Jess's teacher friend Peg gets her a job at her new school and says she talked her up to the principle (who she was porking, later we find out that is Principle Foster and in a future episode he tells Jess he is only into Asians
Last one
-S2ep5 Flashback to college when Nick meets Schmidt, Schmidt introduces himself as Schmidt but later in the episode where we find out Schmidts first name is Winston, he changed it to Schmidt because Nicks childhood friend Winston was already named that
I don't go looking for them, I have just seen the show too many times

The entire reason Cece and Schmidt broke up the second time, was because Schmidt couldn't live without Elizabeth or Cece so he was cheating on both of them. Then when they found out, Elizabeth disappeared and Cece was the most important thing in Schmidt's life again and he, couldn't live without her.
Then when Cece and Schmidt were back together finally, there's an entire episode of him being jealous when Regan comes, but Cece doesn't bring up once how Schmidt was the one who cheated on her, not the other way around.

One inconsistency i personally noticed because its the main reason i started watching the show is that for the majority of the series Nick's car is a 1987 toyota corolla sr5 sport and in 3 episodes (the episode were Nick and Jess sneak into her student's house becuse Nick thinks her student is a serial killer, the parking spot episode and in the episode were Caroline gets angry and throws an object at Nick's car and he says its not his) His car is a 1988 honda civic sedan

In season one in Backslide in Nick's video to himself if he ever tries to dat Caroline he mentions Caroline once dumped him before he had to speak at his brother's wedding. In season 2 he tells his (only) brother than he can get married before Nick does because brother's don't have to get married in order which is brother didn't know, indicating his brother is not, and never has been married as he previously thought he had to wait for Nick to get married.

I have a few:
1. Coach in the first episode said he doesnt know how to talk to women and then when he comes back he has sisters so he knows how to deal w them
2. How did no one meets Ceces mom at her first wedding?
3. They say Ceces moms family approved of Ceces dad after he showed them his dancing, but they were out together for an arranged marriage

The age gap isn't that off. I l know I've rounded up when im near a major birthday. Ive said, I'm 40 or I'm basically 40 when I'm 38-39. Also, ibe said I'm 40 when I'm 41-42. Peope don't always say thwir exact age. Nick was frustrated and feeling like a past his prime failure. Seems natural he'd round up to 30 if his birthday was a few months away.

I actually think the first one makes sense because if Schmidt knew how to do laundry then hed be washing the towel and he wouldnt freak out that it hasnt been washed and it would never be missing when Nick went to use it. Im thinking he assumed one of the others that knows how to do laundry was doing all the towels at once

1. Cece was raised by her grandma, but she was never brought up again and weren't there in her wedding/s.
2. In one episode Nick and Schmidt moved in the couch together on their first day on the loft, but in another Nick and Winston were already in the loft, then they welcome Schmidt.

There's another one too! In the episode 16 of the season 2, Jess is crying and drinking wine, listening to Taylor Swift (great meme) and then in the last episode from that same season, Taylor Swift plays Elaine (the gf of Cece's almost-husband.
Multiverse is real

Winston becoming a cop doesnt go against him being color blind. His friend and fellow cop had night blindness and lost strength in his hands unless he was medicated. In order words, the medical requirement of the LAPD in New Girl World is different than ours

As Nick and Jess were driving away from Cece and Shivrung's wedding, Jess says turn left Nicks says No I'm gonna make 3 rights, if you look at the street, it is a right turn only street with 3 lanes and a fountain, there would be no possible way to turn left

In season 1, at Gina's baby shower, Schmidt said I was in two frats in college. Want to know why? 'Cause I just couldn't decide. Then in season 6, he said, I am a baller. Also, I was never allowed in frats. Too much hazing that required a visible penis.

Also, when Jess and Nick first started dating in season 3 and Schmidt was trying to break them up, Jess admitted to Nick that she was in the Green party. Then, in season 6 Jess is shown campaigning vigorously with Cece for Hillary Clinton as president

One I was so sure they were going to mention was when Winston told everyone Alis name was Alison, and then she corrected him saying her name was Natalie. And then when he proposed to her there was a chorus of people calling her Alison lol

Some of this is okay but the Nick being 30 thing was so dumb coz like The context hes in it would be pointless to say Im 29 as technically thats in his 20s but to say hes 30 writes off his 20s making Pauls point mute.

nick says he passed the bar exam, despite dropping out. later on, he says he can be Schmidt's lawyer because he passed the bar. later still, he says he can't practice law when someone else needs a lawyer.

I think Robbie saying he doesn't like music was actually to keep Schmidt from putting up a fight or seeing Robbie as competition, so he tried making himself look and sound as lame as possible.

The worst one to me is the contradicting flashbacks where Nick and Schmidt are moving into the loft together, but another shows Schmidt moving in after Nick and Winston were already living there

I dont know if it was on purpose or not, but claustrophobia is weird. I have it and I sleep with a pillow on my head and don't mind being in tight spaces as long as other people are around me

im usually really annoyed with inconsistencies like that, but with new girl i dont mind. maybe because theyre jot vital to the plot like in a crime show where even small details usually matter.

schmidts and nicks age difference does make sense. because (hypothetically) if nick was born in december of 81 and schmidt was born 6 months later, in 82. it makes perfect sense.

The first one is wrong. Schmidt allows her everything dry cleaned. He didnt have to know how to do laundry. Also the second one is wrong too. You can be a cop and be colorblind.
