I know I'm one year late to say this but I have to say this and with good reason, I think you guys should have put Eyewitness on this list, because it's so good that it's criminally underrated, literally! Especially since one of the actors James Paxton is the son of famous actor Bill Paxton and Tyler Young is a amazing actor too and both actors were on their early twenties and have to play teenagers and they do a damn good job too in my opinion! It's a shame this show didn't get a second season and is do underrated that it's hardly even talked about, but as a new watcher and fan of the show, I'll make sure this show and these talented young actors get more noticed, respected and get all the love they deserve! #philkasforever

It came out in 2014, and the main male protagonist was supposed to be about 17 years old, but the actor playing him was 31 years old at the time of filming. Come to think of it, most of the teenagers were played by actors who were way older than their characters. Brina Palencia was 30 when it premiered and she was playing a 16 year old.

i know its only movies but honestly films can have a lot of influence over a younger audience - especially if its a high school movie, 14 year olds are going to be looking at these fully grown adults and wondering why they dont look like that, and why their lives arent as developed and adult. i know i do.

My favorites on this list are Cory Monteith of Glee & Jessica Marie Garcia of On My Block. Its sad that Cory Monteith passed away almost 8 years ago, but Jessica Marie Garcia is lucky to be alive & still have her career. I do wish Cory Monteith were still around & finished with Glee as Finn Hudson.

It's not a teen drama, but Thomas Brodie Sangster was about 23/24 when he joined the cast of Game of Thrones, playing Jojen Reed, a character that is supposed to be about 14 at the oldest. Creepy thing about him though - is that he actually looks more like a 14 year old than a 24 year old.

you know, i dont mind older actors playing teenagers in movies, as their acting will be better, but could they at least try to make them look their age. i never for once believed that Stefan Salvator and Veronica Lodge were supposed to be 16/17

The show was only on for two seasons, but Becky Wahlstrom from Joan of Arcadia - not only was she an adult playing a teen, but her character dated Michael Welch's character and he is12 years younger than Wahlstrom in real life!

It isnt weird if someone looks the part. If someone is 35 and clearly looks 35, casting them to play a child is strange. Producers did that with Molly Shannon in Superstar.
