I cant cry for people I dont know. I can be sad, and A little bit emotional, but I always wondered if theres something wrong with me, why cant I cry when a tragedy happens if I dont know the people involved? Im not embarrassed to cry in public, Ive done it many times after losing loved ones, what the hell is wrong with me? Why cant I cry during such a devastating events, especially when theres a mass murder involved? The only time I ever cried what is when 911 happened, and because I actually knew a few people that passed away who were in the towers. But seeing something on the news that have most people in tears, cannot make me cry, its so concerning for me I actually went to see a psychiatrist, thinking there is something horribly wrong with me. He told me that some people are just like that and that its nothing to be ashamed of, but I feel like such a monster for not being able to shed even one tear when a national catastrophe happens. Whats wrong with me? Of course I offer my deepest condolences everyone affected by every event mentioned in this video, I can definitely show empathy and sympathy, why cant I cry about it? I wish I could, because you were always feel better after a good cry, its an emotional release thats necessary to help you express your mental health. Anyone else feel the same way? I hope Im not alone, because I do have feelings, actually very deep feelings, when I was younger I could cry over slightest thing, but realizing that I was so over emotional over everything, I started to bury and hide the pain, and now I cant undo it. The psychiatrist was a very little help, so Im asking you guys, and Im asking a very serious question, what can I do balance out my emotions so I can express them like I should, and not be such a cold robot during times of great sadness?

I just want to say this about gun laws. It sounds like such a good idea to not let those who are mentally ill have a gun. Right? Usually when people think of mental illness, they are probably imagining a person who hears voices or displays erratic, sometimes violent behavior. Here's the issue I have. depression is a mental illness. anxiety is a mental illness. Got a prescription for Lexapro or Xanax? That qualifies you as mentally ill and sooner or later could disqualify you from carrying a gun. Just think about it. There is a fine line between mental health and mental illness.

I feel like I get Ellen. Ppl are selfish, self centered, and love excuses for their unhappiness. She was tough on employees, but the world is tough on her. She carried the weight of that show/her career, providing for thousands along the way. With that much expectation on her and still succeeding, Im not surprised she held others to crazy high standards, which still likely paled to her own. People arent cut from the same cloth, shes one of the truly talented ones. So many subpar ppl out there demanding star treatment, w no star talent, merely for existing.

Craig Ferguson eulogized his parents individually on his show during the opening monologue. Both segments are genuinely beautiful tributes from a son to his parents. He bears his grieving soul to the world, and I still come back to watch them years after the fact. His monologue about struggling with alcoholism is brilliant as well. Do yourself a favor and watch all three of them.

That one statement made it the most powerful moment because it is true. Republicans want to defund Medicaid in states but that is the only thing keeping children alive. I worked at hospitals -- trust me, it is the only thing keeping children alive, especially the children of those voting for these Republicans WHO USE MEDICAID IRONICALLY, THE MOST!

I remember that Ellen episode about the adoptive dog that was taken back by the agency. I never understood why the hairdresser's family couldn't just fill out an adoption form of their own. The agency had gotten the fee from DeGeneres already, and I'm sure she would've been happy to give another 'donation; ' just never made sense to me.

A lot of these are famous people trying hard to push out tears some actually get a tear out most dont. The ones that are trying so hard are trying to make it tv magic. Before you attack let me say most of these are trying to make magic but not all.
reply

Screw Ellen - people are crying over their mothers, people being murdered, and for decades of service; but she gets emotional over a dog and tries to make it seem as though its the same caliber? She is such a sociological fraud
reply

Crying is important! Weather being happy or sad. Its a way for us to heal through the pain! No person should ever feel bad that they cried! That includes men! Let it out everyone! I promise what your going through will pass

The coincidence of Taylors lyrics were NOT coincidental, Taylor changed the lyrics for Jimmy. Taylor asked to come on and be his guest performer that evening since she happened to be performing in NY on tour.
reply

I know you can't compare tragedy but watching people break down about real issues and then Ellen coming on and cry about not adopting a dog is wild. Especially considering the allegations against her.

Another honorable mention with Jon Stewart ought to have been his words following the attacks on 9/11. Perhaps the most powerful speech following the attacks from any TV talks talkshow host.

I love Steves face. The successful man remembers being a poor boy and wishing he could tell his younger self it works out. When they cut to the house he imagined his folks on the porch.

808: Oh God. Kobe and Gianna is too heartbreaking for me, it was so awful. In my generosity, from my heart, I made a nice gift for his wife and 3 daughters

Jimmy Fallon is the most false person on earth, why haven't the show runners told him to stop doing the worst false laughing ever witnessed on a show
reply

I think Ellen DeGeneres probably practiced that cry for a couple of days to pull it off considering how phony she is, now that we all know.

#8 with James Corden should not have been included. C'mon was that just a pity inclusion because you wanted one of every late night host?
reply

To me it just makes them real people and I appreciate their stories so very much. I really like all these hosts. Thank you for sharing.
reply

Nobody cares about your voice the entire time. you share a video and then speak the entire time.
Just share the videos and shut up!

I'm not sure why and how ellen gets emotional on screen but abusive behind the scenes. acting perhaps? or split personality?

my tear jerk moment on a talk show was when Whoopi Goldberg talked to Billy Crystal about Robin Williams suicide.

Fallon crying always makes me break down, I cant watch his tributes to his mom or Tina Fey without bawling
reply

Let me just say I don't really care for any of the people you showed crying. Some of the topics were sad though

This proves that celebrities are not robots, they are human just like the rest of us, we all have feelings.
