This isn't really an Easter-egg, per se, but it's still something I don't think many viewers notice. At the end of Gaston's song, the people in the tavern sing, His marriage we soon will be celebrating. By that point in the movie, Belle has made her feelings about Gaston perfectly clear, often in public. The townsfolk clearly don't care. It seems like what they're actually celebrating is the silencing/conquering of an independent woman.

Articulated question: if Gaston at the beginning of the clash with the Beast, descends from the balcony landing on the balustrade with the gargoyles, how does he fall into the void at the end? Shouldn't it have fallen on the same initial balustrade? And what if after stabbing the Beast he went back to the balcony and later took Belle, but the Beast would defeat him anyway? Would he have been arrested or killed?

Well I grew up on fairy tales and even before this version of this tale, I was already familiar with 2 other versions. So the book one, I got it right away that it was foreshadowing, even though I didn't know the term itself at the time. Keep in mind I was 9 years old at the time. So yeah, I'd say if you're familiar with the original fairy tale, that 'Easter Egg' would have been pretty obvious.

jean Cocteau beauty and the beast 1946 also took inspiration from Johannes Vermeer paintings for the set design and casting such as the girl with the pearl earring which is also cameo here in Disneys version. A good subtle tribute.

If you're wondering what the prince's name is it's Adam also in the early for version of the story Gaston was supposed to be a smug s. o. b of A Marquis de Sade and not the muscle-bound nitwit that we know and hate

It's funny how you mention Gargoyles when the TV show with that name made a Beauty and the Beast Easter Egg in the second season. Elisa was wearing Belle's dress in the Halloween episode.

You missed the part with the Hidden Mickeys that the rain drops at the end when the Beast transforms are little Mickey Mouse heads when the rain hits the ground and bounces up.

That's not a hidden Micky on the back of Cogsworth's head, it's the thing you use to secure the clock to whatever you have it displayed on so I'd doesn't fall

I loved Beauty & the Beast as a kid, and I love it still. This movie is where I learned to always try to look inside to see who someone really is.

i always though her book was more in reference to Aladdin. Far off places, daring sword fights, magic spells, a prince in disguise.

for #4 I first noticed it when I was five, but no one else watching could see it this was before screenshots were a thing
