How The New Halloween Could Have Ended A Lot Differently Hall: Guys I'm gonna be honest here. I LOVED this movie. As a fan since the age of 6 I've seen all of them and yes I have a soft spot for the cheesy ones and for the shit storms of the rob zombie era. However this one takes the cake for me BUT. the ending left me split. On one hand the ending was very poetic, laurie and her daughters gaining the upper hand and defeating Michael trapping him. The goodbye that laurie says to him and his non verbal goodbye stare that he gave her seemed so sad as he stood there after being shot twice, hit by a car, hit by a crowbar, stabbed twice and sliced once after having his fingers blown off. The visuals of Michael house burning the doll house and laurie's trap house no pun intended which was a replica of her house that also burned was a perfect sendoff to both characters as both were badly wounded in the end. The music also played a huge part. What has me split is that we all know the REAL reason the ending change was to leave room for a sequel because blumhouse does not do one off's as of late they do trilogies and more if they can. So they are gonna milk this franchise but what scares me is how do you top such an amazing ending? Do the go the Halloween 4 route? Or the Halloween 3 route? Do they introduce a new antagonist? Do they do a prequel? Like the possibilities are endless but seem so unnecessary. just let the shape die and leave laurie in peace!

I liked the idea of Lauries traps in the house and I liked her trapping him in the basement with Karens I cant do it fake out, I just hate the ending ending. Maybe its the way its shot, idk I just dont like how obvious it felt that Michael wasnt dead. I think a mix of the original ending where we see Michael possibly taking his last breaths in the woods with the one we got; featuring the traps, wouldve been amazing. Somebody said it best, Laurie wouldnt have left away for Michael to escape that basement if that was her plan. An ending that featured traps and a sort of show down wouldve left it open for sequels without taking away from this one being the final confrontation or tha fight 40 yrs in the making

Did not like how it turned out. so much wasted potential. The shape and the score was great but the music queues and the ending was horrible! The main thing that made the original so awesome was the build up and suspense and then that awesome carpenter score hit just right then BOOM the shapes appearance and or kill. Then on to the next set. This new one didnt do any of that. Sure tell your own story and all of that, great but dont forget what made a weirdo in a jumpsuit and creepy mask terrifying in the first place.

I wish it had.
I dont understand why the erased all the sequels just to make another H20. Michael getting shot 60 times, being able to rip open doors etc. makes me wonder why he didnt just rip off his chains and murder everyone if we are going back to him being an undead bullet sponge.

I just watched this new Halloween movie the other day and will say I liked it very much, I only ever liked the original and number 2, 456 were just ok but any after then we're just pure crap, but as I say I did really like this new one and was not disappointed.

I thought he did die; I mean, he was stuck in the basement with the bars preventing him from leaving. house was on fire. Didn't stick around for the part they said he was breathing, but that means nothing except the director trying to scare the audience, maybe.

Michale Myers is dead he was not going anywhere this time no place for him to escape from. So the breathing doesn't proof he survived. It had to end sometime the trilogy is over.

It would be nice if they would just leave this movie alone instead of Halloween Resurrectioning it with another possibly terrible sequel that continues off of this one

what pisses me off is that they couldve ended this franchise on such a high note by actually killing him for good. but again they leave it open for a sequel

This film will always remind me of the time where I took my crush to go watch it and she was so scared that basically the whole time she kept hugging me lmao
