The History Of Every Canceled Batman Movie
video description
Oh, and let's not forget the original Catwoman movie that was supposed to be a spinoff of Batman Returns and have Michelle Pfeiffer return as Selina. I've read parts of the script (you can find info on it online) and it honestly seemed about as logical as Halle Berry's film, but at least it would have stayed true to the character and followed up on a great film.
Edit: I think the best part of Batman & Robin was easily Uma Thurman's performance as Poison Ivy. It's sad that it gets overlooked because of how messy the rest of the film is. I would have loved for them to find some sort of way to have her return in Batman Unchained.

Missing a few.
1. The original version of the 1943 serial where the Joker was going to be the villain, but the studio made them change it to a japanese man to support the war efforts.
2. A sequel to Batman: The Movie, which was cancelled because the rating for the second season weren't as high as the first.
3. Tim Burton's version of Batman Forever, changed due to the backlash to Batman Returns from parents.
4. The Catwoman movie starring Michelle Pfeiffer, before we got the kitty litter in 2003.
5. Ben Affleck's The Batman, which would have been very different to the upcoming film (still heartbroken over that, but I can't wait for the Matt Reeves version)
6. Batman vs Godzilla. I'm not joking.
P. S. I won't hold the Snyder Cut to you as the Whedon atrocity wasn't out by then.
P. S. S. Chris O'Donnel confirmed in another interview that his spin off would have been a NIGHTWING film, not a Robin one. But people are still under this misconception.

Personally, I would like to see a Batman Film taking place in the 1940's. No Hi-Tech Gadgetry, just clever Detective work. A Batcave under Wayne Mansion, to be entered via the Grandfather Clock. At the start, no Robin, no Joker etc. Just villains waiting to be Sorted out. A 1940's FORD Adapted as the Bat Car. The Bat Costume would have to look better than the original two of the 40's Series, but NOT anything like the Modern Suits. Even if just ONE Film like this was to be made, I think it would be different, and successful.

You're missing one. There was a planned animated film after the direct to video Batman: Subzero. Although we eventually got the Batwoman movie, that was based around the reboot/reimagined version of Batman: The Animated Series; the interim movie never came into fruition. All we have on this lost movie are concept art stills, and actress Angie Harmon was attached to play the love interest.
Also Mask of the Phantasm is the best Batman movie. Just throwing that out there.

There are a few Batman villains that I would like to see in a live-action film that have yet to appear in one. Man-Bat is not one of them. I'd much, MUCH rather see Croc or The Mad Hatter. It's a shame that villains like The Joker, Two-Face, and Bane have each been used twice(in both the original and reboot series, but other great villains haven't been used even once. And that's out of 7 films! (Actually 8 of them if you count the 1966 film based on the TV series)

I don't think this is every cancelled Batman film project. There are probably a dozen more that the public never heard of. Before he got all the rights to for Michael Uslan wrote a script for a film called Return Of The Batman. It was based on the 1970s Batman of Julie Schwartz, Denny ONeil, and Neil Adams. The Batcave was replaced with a high tech luxury penthouse, zero humor, more detective and battling the supernatural than crime fighter.

They DID make a Batman Beyond movie. They actually made 2 of them, with one of them featuring a new Joker that is the exact same as the Joker from the Batman the animated series, but yet with a big twist. So you might want to check your facts before you add something to a list. because the Batman Beyond movie isn't one of the canceled Batman movies, neither of them are.

According to Paul Dini, they actually finished a draft of the Batman Beyond script.
Also, the cancellation of Batman Beyond had nothing to do with the movie not being picked up. Animated kid's shows back then were only ordered for a number of episodes. They didn't get canceled like live action shows because they're only expected to get that number of episodes.

I still don't think any movies has captured batman as accurately as the Tim Burton original. Keaton played the role flawlessly and the story still holds up to this day. everyone there's a batman movie it gets put up against burtons for comparison. burton remembered the one thing everyone always forgets. batman isn't just a vigilante. he's a detective

Shame the Man-Bat movie didn't happen. I mean, imagine Batman trying to solve the Man-Bat and now the Scarecrow has infected him, and is using his fear of Bats. And to make things EVEN worse the police are now on his tail, hell maybe Commissioner Gordon could be defending him.
