Unfortunately I don't think we can really include games that have weapon wheel slowdown but if you don't really use it, games like Spider-man or Ghost of Tsushima could see encounters with multiple enemies last literal seconds if you really think fast. And it feels good to see seven guys just get webbed in two seconds with good gadget combos, or a tough looking group of warriors get drop all at the same time because you stance countered everyone perfectly before the first guy dropped to the ground

Overwatch when you're either playing or fighting against a Tracer. When I started playing Tracer I found her movement to be so fast that I'd get confused with where I was, and playing against a good Tracer player was like playing against The Flash, they were left and then on the right, then on the left again, then they recalled behind you then they were in front of you and suddenly there's a pulse bomb. Crazy fun character design.

I am an absolute fan of fast paced boomer shooter/ arena Shooter games and I played a lot of them. But Trepang2 was something else. The Story, The Gameplay, The features, the mechanics, the plot. Everything was so perfect for me. I am very grateful that I spent 50 hours in the game and eventually managed somehow with a lot of frustration included the rage mode. basically all enemies make you one shot and have aimbot

There has been a bit of a run on Indies that fit this bill in the last year. Between Mullet Madjack, Anger Foot and I Am Your Beast you can speed your way around shooting (or kicking) to your hearts content. All three are worth a look and you can get them all for the price of a AAA game. Although admittedly playing all of them back to back might make you dizzy.

If you played with one of my builds in Armored Core 6, all bosses are light work, or damn near. I floated around with the tripod legs, while melting enemy/boss health with 2 flamethrowers and 2 shoulder mini guns.
The minis made quick work of the stagger, while the flames took care of the regular health bar. all simultaneously by the way.

grew up next door to a disabled child whose mother used to buy him a lot of video games. He particularly enjoyed games involving cars and bikes, so I spent most of my days at his house playing a lot of them. Burnout 3 Takedown and ATV Quad Power Racing 2 were by far the most enjoyable, and they weren't even close.

Not having Crypt of the Necrodancer, Super Meat Boy, Bayonetta, God Hand and Metal Hellsinger here is an absolute crime.
I'd argue that those games require WAY more quick thinking that half of the games on this list (I should know, I played most of these too)

grew up with a disabled kid next door whos mom used to get him alot of video games, he especially loved games with cars and bikes, spending most days at his house i played a bounch of them and by far we had the most fun with burnout 3 takedown and atv quad power racing 2 and it wasnt even close.

No mention of Warframe Game is so fast they had to nerf speed multiple times cause ppl were going to the other side of the ducking multiverse in a split second and apparently the devs dont think thats fun. Also a good part of it are ppl parkour racing/bullet jumping and stuff to the finish line

My brain started screaming just playing Ghostrunner (#1. I could only go like 30min-1hr at a time before my head hurt so bad it wasnt worth the pain anymore.
On a note as to fast paced games, Morbid Metal looks like it could be fun. There is a demo out for it and I enjoyed it.

This is just a list of the games that teenage me would have been all over while old man me cringes at being able to chart the cognitive decline at my inability to play these types of games any more. I have enabled Story Mode on three games this year alone.

Solid list! I feel honorable mentions could be Warframe and / or Remnant II. They're not necessarily as fast-paced as some of the games on this list, but if you want to speed through, there are characters and builds that let you go absolutely nuts

Sekiro is one of my favorite games of all time time but does not belong ANYWHERE on this list. Especially when you start the video off at 20th with doom eternal clearly cared more about making people watch than making a good list on this one

Time Crisis is a great game. I remember at my high school graduation, there was a senior night at an event center and they had an arcade that they turned to unlimited token mode. Probably the only time I played Time Crisis to completion lol

Haters will hate, but after 7 years of playing as a Tracer/Genji main, I can tell you Overwatch is a fast game.
I don't play any more, though. I played Overwatch 2 for a while but I haven't thrown a pulse bomb in years.

cup head is an extremely hard fun game, the only game that i have over 5k deaths in and keep going lol what makes it better is my son whos 13 can solo play it on the hardest difficulty and beat every boss and secret boss.

Hot take. Harvest Moon is one of the fastest paced games ever. You have a 24 hour clock where every hour goes by in about 45 seconds and if you even get stuck on a corner for half a second you miss out on so much money

Not putting modern high level DDR or even any rhythm game is unacceptable. The speed and timing of so many of these is so fast and tight that most professional gamers couldn't begin to approach the challenge.

I love doom eternal, it’s the only game I go back to every single time. It’s so amazing. It may be my favorite game of all time. It makes you feel powerful, ultra nightmare is the only way to play it
