Howdy friends, I'm Gehrig, the director, co-writer, vfx sup of MARIE.
I was far too insecure to admit to anyone, but landing on DUST was my number one goal when working on this film. Not really sure how to properly express just how stoked myself and the team are to be featured. This film took three days to film, but almost a year and a half to cut and finish VFX. so WOW is it exciting to finally have it out there: )
With that mind: Dear lovely viewer, truly a giant thank you for taking the time to watch our film. I'm so excited/terrified/gonna-throw-up/stoked to see what you all have to say about it.
Let me know if you have any questions, my favorite thing in the world is gushing on my teammates and talking about the filmmaking process. Be safe out there, give your friends lots of hugs, and don't be afraid to high five strangers. - G

Really cool, draws you in. Makes you want to know more and see more. The concept, plot line, scenery (nostalgic items) very nice. It looked like a real Western/Prairie home, that met with some bad events.
As a sci-fi lover and one that likes to lose reality for a bit.
The opening text could be revealed a bit longer for each line. The cryo container, visually, looked to small to fit a standard height human. May have been the viewing angles. The machinery itself was nicely done. Seeing the schematics filled the hole for an Amish person to know what the machinery was and how to mess with it. Lines were delivered a little stiff. Although, the bickering seemed natural.
Loved to see another project or the extension of this storyline.

Just watched a film called MARIE. VERY impressive. Directed by Gehrig (great talent, people are finally starting to notice) Beautifully shot and it has HEART. You don’t see that anymore! Hollywood is too busy with GARBAGE nobody wants to see. But MARIE is DIFFERENT. The kind of filmmaking we used to have before Hollywood went downhill. Congrats to the team! They should be VERY proud. This is what WINNING looks like! THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER.

I was a little worried seeing the start. Far too much horror genre gets called sci fi. Probably just me but I like my science fiction to be rooted in science rather than jump scares.
So thank you for making a short based in science. It's fine to be scary or have some scary elements like this did. But I went away wondering about her cyber arm not if the aliens looked like alligators.

I love good sci-fi and speculative fiction. I am entirely over the film school sci fi atmospheric pieces that sadly seem to dominate Dust these days. This was a breath of fresh air. Characters that speak! Actors who can act! A world that is just begging to be explored, engaging characters, enigmatic bad guys, cool tech. Where's the kickstarter for the movie

Very interesting. Watched it 2 times, probably will watch it another couple of times. Lots of interesting details that are revealed. The location, story line and acting made for a good story.
The actors carried it off very well with thier characters. I will now go check out who all these people are. I liked it. Could see it expanded.

This sci-fi short film Marie is a captivating blend of emotion and futuristic intrigue. The storytelling is subtle yet powerful, with stunning visuals that draw you into its world. The protagonists journey is both haunting and thought-provoking, leaving a lasting impression. A must-watch for fans of introspective sci-fi.

That was great. Not the ending I had expected, but what I think doesn’t really matter. Well done short. This was produced really well with excellent support from the score, lighting, set, costume, makeup and acting to create a complete package. I could watch more of this story. When can we expect a part 2

First, this was good. Loved the effects, the story was tight and concise. You didn't overshare giving the world enough mystery that you are wondering what's going to happen next. Would love to see more from you.
Next, a joke. I guess someone found the electric devil on their rumspringa.

A very captivating short film, efficiently told, with sufficient information to understand the premise and thus, predicament of the players. A notable less is more film, that leaves the audience wanting to know what happens next, Well done, you need to make the what happens next part!

Marvelous work
I want to have a joint venture with dust one day if possible.
But kindly i feel that it is important to draw your attention for someting related to copy rights. the ship looks like the same as captain future's!

Excellent! Storyline, storytelling, the characters, and the intense science fiction mystery all around, was excellent! I was holding my breath when the alien came. Damn that scene was intense. This would make a great series!

Simple story and like most Dust shorts leaves more questions than answers. How did she get modified What happened to the ship wouldn't there be a big pile of wreckage to sort through Maybe get more alien tech from it.

Sometimes I forget to watch the wonderous works of art that get posted on Dust, then something like this comes across my feed and I wonder why I stopped. I genuinely hope we will see more of Marie and Zeke. So well done!

Just watched Marie , excellent. One of the group of productions that make me so glad I found this Chanel!
Unfortunately, also one of the excellent projects that just make me want more of them!

Boy meets girl and they go away from her home and they'll find. what That they can't go home again I didn't not like it and there are many worse ways you could have spent the year since filming.
reply

That was great, superb job! I perticularly like the part where Ezekiel came out of the house to see the alien ship exploding, and you see it as a reflection in the window behind him. Fabulous effort.

Full blown series coming up! Town to town adventures, could be x-files like, could be zombie like, so much potential! I want to see more. Cyborg arm gun, a present from Dad. Nice touch!
reply

Wow! I want to watch more of their journey. Hope you can do more of their story. I think you have a real winner here. Good luck and I'll be hopefully waiting for the next instalment.
