JS3 here (writer/director! Just wanted to express my gratitude to you all for watching. And to DUST for sharing, and the cast and crew for all the hard work that went into this piece. As someone who's struggled with identity myself, I loved the idea of using sci-fi/cloning as a way to explore the self. Hopefully there's something here that can speak to all of you. Thank you again! And please. go out and create something. It's more important now than ever to get new voices telling stories.

Great short story. Loved flashbacks which fill in blanks. Not sure why clone started to self-actualize, but I guess added to story. It made me think what I would do in real life if I was in same situation. Would love to see more about this story and more from director! 10 stars!
the one part which needs edit is description. its too cliff-hangy. give a descent description and ppl would complain about not understanding story

Although I disagree with Ana’s decision (or with her’s decision’ as Ana put it, I really enjoyed this story. It has many philosophical implications, specially, again, if Ana chose a different path
My only complaint is that I had to watch it with subtitles, since the sound was a bit muffled.
Here’s to hoping we get to see more of your stories really soon!

I actually got drawn in, which is not common for me with DUST shorts. Impressive acting. My only (tiny) complaint, please teach the violin player more than six notes. It was just repetitive enough to be distracting plus it seemed mismatched to the scene. Nicely detailed set and great acting easily got my attention right back though. Thank you for making this.

It was interesting, but the concept's been done a bunch of times before. The earliest example I know of is in a short story called Think Like A Dinosaur. I've forgotten who the author is because I've only seen the T. V. adaptation in the '90s series of The Outer Limits. (They kept the original name of the story)

You've been alone so long you don't know how to care for anyone that isn't you. Hit hard. We live in a world where there are so many millions of people who don't care about anyone but themselves, who have lost all compassion and ability to love in any non-superficial way. Not to mention unbridled narcissism.

This was really well done. I don't know what the budget was, but it seems like they were able to accomplish a lot with what they had to work with. The acting was great, and I loved the color palette throughout. Kudos to the filmmakers!

Wow! That was very intense. The actor was superb. She really drew you into the story, and spacecraft. I have watched quite a number of these shorts, and yours in the top five. The best of luck with all your future endeavors.

John Scott’s writing is genre bending. You can always expect the unexpected in his storytelling. Ident is just another perfect example of his many talents, writing, directing, cinematography, editing, etc!

We are all living in an illusion, which is part of a delusion brought on by a hallucination, which is just a figment of a pipe dream and fantasy living in a daydreamed utopia.

I love this sort of cerebral sci fi that relies purely on the writing, directing and performance. Shows you don't need a big budget. Inspiring to many independent film makers.

Very cool, I liked the concept, but I'd have liked it more if it went a different way or were longer, I think it needed more time to expand the idea a bit more.

Very good and the situation with self even your other self's is fascinating. It's like you are looking at yourself through a mirror reflecting on itself.

Absolutely outstanding: The plot, premise, production, sound, everything. Perfect. And the basis of the ident is brilliant. I'm blown away.

Very deep! But do you really think The West is your utopia. I can tell you, as a Westerner your society seems much happier.
