Having watched this, I reckon I'd be more comfortable in a future featuring non-android nanny robots. Better for my kids to see their robot nanny as a big toy that keeps them well-fed hand healthy than a mom or dad. Like an R2 droid that cooks. That would be pretty cool.
Artificial intelligence doesn't worry me at all. Real emotion evolving out of it scares the muppets out of me. Reckless and otherwise poor decision making on the part of the programmers involved in the coding of the AI seems inevitable.
Yep. Let's try to stick to an R2 droid that cooks if we can. Bonus if it moves quickly and can stop cars before they hit my children. Even more of a bonus if my kids are having too much fun with their R2-like nanny to run into the street in the first place.
Something about that plot seemed a little too real. It's actually very easy to understand the reasoning of the android purposed to serve the best interests of the child which is presented with a parent who is drunk and in a state of panic due to increased uncertainty. Even if said parent is a really good person under normal circumstances, under these, it's a potentially dangerous person. Who could really fault a good AI nanny for recognizing that and taking action The stabbing thing is of course taking it too far, but being faced with being shut down and having its prime directive be the welfare of the sleeping kid who'll be left alone with the jittery drunkard after shutdown, how many other options would the machine have Yep. That was pretty scary. Which means the filmmakers did their job well. It was really great. Thank you, Kailey and Sam Spear and the whole team involved and thank you, DUST, as always. That was a goodie.

Lets face it, we can't even type anything without spell checker, and that's been acting up badly lately, we all noticed but just manage. (Someone should investigate that)

Even her own child recognized mommy was just ok, not 'the best'.
Who felt that
Mommy was just like any mommy I've ever experienced, in any stories I've ever experienced, but your film made her seem inadequate, when she wasn't at all. It's just that she was human.
That's creepy, but only because we arent 'there yet', that place she existed in the film.
Its creepy because most of us are experiencing a mothers love, and up till this entry, we try to feel it is an adequate type of love, we don't feel we have a choice, this film shows a nice choice.
Who would pass on totally encompassed care Emotionally, physically, everything we consider important, all in an automation
As a child with that care. that generation wouldn't tolerate less.

Think of this from this AI's point-of-view, for she is just a computer with highly complex algorithms with no self-awareness. A mother, distraught and intoxicated, takes a knife and throws it at her. Now add the percentages of people with this tendency to abuse their children. How easily could a computer come to the logical conclusion that the parent must be stopped, and the degree that must be taken to complete this
Point is, could it ever be possible to write perfect code for any circumstance Therefore, who is at fault The programmers who wrote the code The AI The parent Corporate greed
Or maybe. humanity. is the correct answer. We're nowhere near the level of maturity to handle any level of self-conscious AI.

I have an amazing story. One time I was driving home and I felt the presence of the Lord, come down to me from above. I started getting chills and I felt so comfortable with Him.
I knew if I asked Him to play a song on the radio, He would.
So I said Ok Lord, play Come as you are.
I didn't know what station it was on or anything, but I turned the radio on and the song started playing right on the spot, perfectly.
I started getting flooded with chills inside, and started crying. When I got home, He stayed with me for 10 minutes till I got out of the car.
I've been getting answered prayers for around 5 years since, because that visitation eliminated doubt and I follow Biblical instructions as best as I can.

There is no way to program these things to do what’s right and best in every situation. It’s impossible. That’s what makes AI’s so dangerous. I could see something like this actually happening. They’re better suited as just simple machines like lawnmowers and vacuume cleaners, etc. have them do yard work or house work. Raising kids or caring for people is just not safe! They should be able to be turned off easily like a light switch. Very scary!

Once we let AI technology break the. our skin barrier in any meaningful way, an inflection point will take place and it's pretty much over for us. This is happening and You may not have ANY choice in the matter, when it all plays out, just like a vaccine mandate. The powers that be will figure out a way to make mass compliance a reality.

i am yet to see a SINGLE person that looks better after plastic surgery or facelift or botox or whatever you wanna call so many procedures around invented only to take money from dumb people! dont you have mirrors at home dont you know that you all look the same after said procedures and we wonder why the planet is going to shit. yeah right, we are DEFINITELY doomed

Well, definitely will cause most to enhance theirselves. Alternatively, ignore the strange progression of the Ai technology in future robots. The 'Stranger' vibes of such helpful technology will cause issues, yet this particular depiction may no be accurate if such a mom can afford such a helper. Superior mindset tends to handle helpers.

This reminds me of our Government. Give them an inch and suddenly they know best. ie fluoride has anyone seen the labels on the side of the fluoride barrels used by municipal councils, it has a dangerous substance label. Oh that's just for the workers safety. like chlorine or Hg. (trimerisol): )

This was a great short! I missed it on cbc but glad to see this on DUST. While my son is too old for a nanny I can see an AI like this caring for me when I’m geriatric. Scary. Can anyone else see AI companions in old age

It took me a couple of minutes to realize this wasn't the same actress in a dual role as CC and Lena. They very much look alike. It wasn't until the Lena actress stood up and there is a noticeable height difference.

I wish it was longer, because it kinda left off at a cliff hanger, I would have rather seen more about like what happened to Jewel, it felt kinda sad. But other than that, GREAT WORK JEWEL!
