Lol, it's movies and videos like this that makes girls think they can do anything a man can. Then they run into reality, and get super disappointed. Friend of mine decided to become a fireman. I told her she would never make it, because she would never be able to pull me out of a burning building. But she went anyway for the tests, and didn't even make it through the first day. But they wanted me to do pushups. Yea, if you can't even push up your own body weight, how the actual F do you think you're gonna carry unconscious people down a ladder! Nope, that wasn't the reason she didn't make it, according to her. It was because the MEN there hated women for some reason, and that's the only reason she didn't make it. Couple of facepalms later I just gave up. She's a very nice person, but soooo deluded about reality. I blame the education system. And all these feminists pushing their deluded ideas. Men and women are not equal. Women can do things men can't do, and men can do things women can't do. I don't get why that's a problem these days. It was just logic for millennia. Now suddenly reality doesn't matter anymore. So weird.

I am for engineering people, when all you want to do is drive out disease and other genetic curses. Though you can bet it would be abused by corporate and political powers. I want to see the end of inequality, and bio engineering is one way of doing it; but it needs to be super heavily regulated. No one should be engineered to be super smart, or super athletic. It should only be used to bring every one together on a equal level. Things such as unique talents should also be left to nature, or there will be nothing unique in the world.

It would have been better if the effects of high g-forces, and the techniques to cope with them, were more realistically represented. Although a determined state of mind certainly helps, it's not enough to get through that type of situation. It wouldn't have to add any extra run-time, and I think it would have made it not just more accurate, but more thrilling and dramatic.
meh. my two cents and it's worth exactly that lol. Still a good short film!

She was really struggling to pass the test as (almost) natural, then finds herself apparently on board that spacecraft.
And her mom is also there! Did they upgrade her mom in a way she could pass that test Or did Selene come back to earth and they moved somewhere else, where she works from home
The end shot does not look like the latter is the case, though

The relationship between the friends started off okay, but takes a quick trip to weirdville and I'm not even sure what to make of the natural incorporating engineering to meet the contest goals. Overall didnt connect or have much impact. Lead was very stiff.

I honestly question the plethora of good reviews and accolades for this short. Did we see the same film The core concept is fine, but the writing is facile at best, and the acting was cringeworthy. Not one of Dust's best entries, definitely nowhere near the truly great quality I have seen in the majority of their video catalog over the years.

I agree with others' comments. well acted, filmed, written.
And strong moral story.
Maybe could've made it a longer movie by continuing the story.
The pair are both accepted into the program. and later on the space habitat face a real emergency. and once again the story displays how their teamwork succeeds again.

It's amazing that there is such talent out there for writing, acting and cinematography.
A short film that draws you in with believable characters with growth and positivity.
Hell is better than most of the full length films I have seen for the last few years!

This tries to play off a conflict of natural human vs engineered human, but I found nothing about it to be insightful, or clever. If this wants to be made into a movie and not be a flop it needs to find something deeper.
