Bro, how fortuitious you post this. I freaking love the burning Legion lore and what they did to Azeroth and its inhabitants and what they did in return.
I started playing TBC again but lvling this time as an ally. Very neat questhubs and lore alltogether, but something stands out.
The Argus Wake. They're an offshoot cult from the shadow council warlocks and they sought to incorporate the Third Host onto Azeroth. This lore is 10 years old and Sargeras is -captured-. But i thought, what if Blizzard is still going to use this piece of lore, cuz the Leader of the Argus Wake is NOT Nagaz, Nagaz is a follower of the powers the Argus Wake adhere, which most likely is Sargeras. What if retail Illidan IS the Third Host?
With the grand scheme of things the Jailer has, Illidan is infused with a little bit of Sargeras' power. What if Sargeras saw this coming too, that Illidan would imprison him. lol /archimonde -you made a pact-(to give your life for this chain of events)
Someone stated on the lorewiki page that the -Third Host- could mean a 3rd wave of the Legion trying to invade Azeroth, which they did in Legion expansion. Then this lore would be finished.
Wouldnt it be cool if we fought against Sargeras? We get infused by the other Pantheon members, or we found another machine, Azeroth the titan battling in the background while we infuse the machine to power her up much like coals for a train, just like Nzzoth/Jailer fight that uses machine themes too. Would be silly if we fought Sargeras while he is floating before our planet much like the Eternals Arishem scene. But copared to fighting Argus the Death Titan, he was like a child compared to Sargeras.
idk, im just geeking

I love the redemption arc of Illidan (My favorite character in WoW)
It really makes me regret I wasn't able to play the Expansion.
(IRL problems)
Especially when I found out my favorite gear scheme and color for Rogues was revived and then taken away for Gladiator rank.
(Yes I know TOS has a similar color scheme but it is no where near as beautiful as the Red Aura Gladiator effects)

Honestly I think everyone looks for way to much in that turalyon about to slice illadin scene. That was his xera was his benefactor for thousands of years and the reason why they were able to fight the legion for so long. Anyone would get mad at that. Not to mention right after he didn't even hold a grudge he just went with the plan like everyone else.

I suppose everyone in azeroth hated Illidan for summoning argus but come on, this was the first time a group of heroes had the best weapons in history and werent chained by diplomacy, only focused on one goal! Fighting back the legion. And Velen understood this was the time

During the Burning Cruzade my Rogue went 7 times to the Black Temple for Illidan's warglaives.
I never got them. -
I'm totally over it, I'm just eating this bucket of ice cream because I want to.

As much as I hate the gameplay of retail, the story of Legion was pretty good, the last time it was good in fact. Bfa and especially Shadowlands were a crapshoot

The hungering void is what is coming. That's what sargeras was scared of after he was sent off by the others to find the old gods.

1: 03 this video is inaccurate. If you look in the game, Illidan doesn't have a septum in his nose. It's one big blowhole.

-To defeat the hungering void that will consume us all-
hmmn, so is this what the jailer also has feared?

Love the little friendship between Illidan and Velen that they forged even tho they had quite the opposite morals.

Sometimes the hand of fate must be forced. We can't do anything about Blizzard's horrible storytelling though
