Marine Biologist Amani Webber-Schultz answers the internet's burning questions about sharks! Flower: I dissected a small shark in my zoology class, and those livers are no joke, the species I dissected had 3 lobes of liver that completely covered all the other organs, so we had to cut out the super oily livers to even be able to see the rest of it's organs, so many paper towels. and the lab smelled horrible (even with fume hoods and open doors)

12: 16 So funny thing about this, and I'm surprised she didn't either know or mentioned this. But the original novel was actually inspired by actual shark attacks that happened in New Jersey. I don't remember the exact number, but a lot of people were killed by Bull Sharks in a riverway. Which would go onto inspire Jaws and lay the groundwork for years of terrible terrible movies

Jaws was based loosely on the new Jersey attacks in the early 1900s. Most people think it was likely a bullsharks that attack and killed several people in a relatively short time. But now a lot of experts think that the shark was actually a juvenile great white that just for some reason became aggressive.

its time to retire the 1 in 3. 7 million shark bite stat. wouldn't that number change if the sharks were not where we were in mass before? if they are where we are all the time then that number would go up astronomically. run for your lives.

When I was a young boy I asked my dentist why can't we grow teeth like sharks. He looked at me kind of strange and then went about his way. I don't think he knew. LOL

She was great and fascinating to listen to. I would have liked more than a split second between questions, however. The editing frankly felt stress-inducing.

If you want to see the world's largest collection of bull sharks, come to Tulsa (Jenks) Oklahoma. Really cool, kinda eerie, walk-thru underwater dome.
