I don't remember the exact number, but a lot of people were killed by Bull Sharks in a riverway. Which would go onto inspire Jaws and lay the groundwork for years of terrible terrible movies

Jaws was based loosely on the new Jersey attacks in the early 1900s. Most people think it was likely a bullsharks that attack and killed several people in a relatively short time. But now a lot of experts think that the shark was actually a juvenile great white that just for some reason became aggressive.
