1987 V8 Vantage
It probably wasn't intended as such, but to me, the Goldeneye chase is a nod to the Aston DBS and Ferrari Dino chase in the pilot episode of The Persuaders in the same location. Roger Moore in an Aston which is a reason why he never drove one as 007. But then, we were given the Lotus Esprit, so no great shame. The next Bond in an Evija would be a game-changer.
Ian Fleming did put Bond in an Aston in at least one of his novels (a DB2/4, I believe) so that's where the association actually started.

My 9 year old lad is into his cars and has been since the age of 2. He was all about Bugattis and Lambos and Ferraris - until I pointed out an Aston Martin parked in a nearby driveway here in the UK. Just the name alone is classy but then so is the badge and its history in Bond films; so I showed him the car in Goldfinger and others. He now wants a DB5 with machine guns and an ejector seat for his annoying younger sister.

Aston Martin has been using that specific grille shape since day 0. When Ford bought Aston they took that shape and used it for their own cars thus devalueing the design. If you look at every modern Ford, they have that very specific shape. The 2015 Ford Mondeo/Fusion is the most notorious one with the AM grille. Now AM are changing the design language they had since the 50s.

I could listen to this man talk about them cars all day,
I love the DB5 she will always be my fav, if I could ever get an Aston Martin it will be the DB5, that will never happen but I can dream,
I wonder if it ever hurts him to know that one of the cars he makes is just going to get smashed up,

Excellent clip. Just the Ferrari chase would normally be won by the Ferrari. He states the DB5 could go faster due to drifting which is physically not correct. The Ferrari has a lower weight and center of mass and middle engine no overhanging etc-

Sure, u can beat a modern day Ferrari. this guy seemed to make some sense till he didn-t. Yes if you put me in the modern car and Loeb in the old Aston, yep, the db will win but is is comparing kiwi with bananas.

The DB5 they shot up in Skyfall was a scale model. Maybe should have mentioned that. That wreck is what Q is referring to when he says -this one takes quite while to patch up-

It's a total insult to show the Aston Martin cars in the painfully dreadfull Pierce Brosnan films, not including goldeneye, which was Brosnans ONLY good bond film

Very informative video. It makes me appreciate the James Bond films and the Aston Martin brand even more, even though I haven't actually watched a single Bond film yet.
