Dr. Janja Lalich, a sociologist who used to be in a cult, answers the internet's burning questions about cults. How did Charles Manson get a cult Stallu: Oh- I actually live this- but we would see in this days if actually function. There was in college a big brainwash for elections, and them this one took upon the social media and them make people fight in the streets and today on, if someone make a neutrality remark or criticism for certain person on the top or group, it gets burn. If I-m honest, I-m still- looking forward for the results, but- they called -deconstruction-, but sounds more like this, if I-m honest. But may be is too early to talk, we will see (also because- the other group is a little bit more violent, so-. Can warlordism be a cult?

The only difference between cult and religion is how many are in it. Religion is more harmful to the world because they have governments under their control that can cause their most sought after prophecy, the destruction of the world. Book of revelation is an instruction manual on how to destroy the world. We have to get people out. We don't have much time left. If Trump becomes president again or DeSantis or anyone like that they will launch nukes this time.

I've had friends and family recruited into cults (at least for a time. I've always been passed over. Even for religions. Maybe, in her wise words, -maybe they don't like (me)-. I am just not seen as a good member. I'm not but ok they seem to know very very quickly. What are they looking for?

What I don't accept is this distinction between a cult and a religion. That doesn't make any sense. There are obvisously many religious cults and they don't stop being religions just because they're cults.

Wish could-ve ask her, how many cult leaders intentionally create a cult -
For how often they seem to develop as they go, it-s so interesting how many specifics overlap.
Oh loved that last question!

I think a cult of 2 is usually called folie a deux.
80% of the world is in a cult. They have governments under their control and we're going to die because of it. The ecosystem is already falling apart.

I remember learning in sociology about a cult researcher who investigated the Moonies and actually ended up joining them. That really shows how persuasive a cult can be to the most skeptical person.

14: 10 Injected? Bit of a slip of the tongue there. There's a conspiracy theory that the people in Jonestown were actually killed by Green Berets who injected all of them with poison as a cover-up.

As the leader of the Dinosaur-God cult, I just wanted to add that having a scientifically believable icon to venerate, significantly increases the chances to succeed.

i feel like people who call companies like lula roe cults are pretty disrespectful to those that are being forced to live with other members in squalor.
