When I listen to it I first hear -Yanny- but if I say constantly Laurel I hear -Laurel-. I listened to it carefully when I was listening to Laurel I heard a high frequency background sounds and when I focused on the high background sounds the high frequency sounds together were making the sound -Yanny-.

I feel like expectations play a roll in hearing them sometimes. Like, when I kept hearing laurel, I wanted to stop hearing laurel and hear yanny. So I repeated in my head, -yanny, yanny, yanny- and listened to the clip, expecting yanny, and I did.

I heard Yanny the first few times. Then I suddenly started hearing Laurel when I carefully listened. Now I hear both. My guess is that both vocals are simultaneously being played and the pitch is being lowered without affecting the tempo.

The first few times, I heard Yanny. couldn't understand how my husband was hearing an -L- anywhere in there. Then 30 min later, I listened again and now all I can hear is Laural! No matter how hard I try, I can't hear Yanny again!

Using my speakers and my headphones, I hear Yanni all the time. I don't see how you can hear Laurel. My first language is Spanish, I think that affects what I am hearing and what you hear.

I'm confused. I have otosclerosis, which means I don't hear low frequencies well at all, yet I hear Laurel every time and can't even force myself to hear Yanny.

Strange, I played this for three different people in my office who are in their 60s and they all hear Yanny. But I can only hear Laurel. Too many loud shows perhaps

The audial recording has someone say -Laurel- which they make a low frequency, and then has someone say -Yanny- and then they edit it to make it higher.

I have the trick it to it which requires concentration so you can hear both. If you want to hear yanny you can hear yanny and if laurel then laurel.
