The Future of Your Job in the Age of AI - Robots & Us

Robot co-workers and artificial intelligence assistants are becoming more common in the workplace. Could they edge human employees out? What then? Mr. : Jobs become automated because robots can do a better job for a cheaper price. Who will be able to pay for a companies services and products when a large majority of people become unemployed.
For example, a large car company automates completely, sure they can now drop their prices but. (Ford for example employs over 200, 000 people. Now there is 200, 000 less people to buy your product because they have no job and money. Obviously they won't all remain unemployed, but if enough jobs become automated a vast majority of them will remain so.
Would love to hear what others think: D

-It wasn't about trying to replace people. -
But it replaced people nonetheless.
And BS to him saying it wasn't about replacing people. it soooooo was/is!
The biggest part of any company's budget is employee salaries and that's where they always look to cut first. that's why they use robots. that's why they supported the creation of robots.
More money for themselves.
More products to sell.
More waste of natural resources.
More trash created.
They didn't think this through. They saw more money at the exclusion of everything else.

Thousands of -robots- are paid to confuse everyone by saying Automation/ Immigrants/ Robots/ China/ Whatever/ etc caused the loss of 40 million Primary jobs with thick benefits and comfortable pensions. But where are the 70, 000 big manufacturing plants that closed? . There are no factories to automate(Duh) When Trump puts back those 70K factories, then we will need to import 39, 999, 999 more workers to fill those Secondary jobs that arise from the 40M big spenders!

Relax Humans, AI will solve ALL your bothersome resource needs and provide abundance: Every Human will achive the pinnacle of Maslow's needs-pyramid; Self-actualisation for every-one, and a free lunch to boot. AI will do all this while studiously, tirelessly and without judgment of your own inability to achieve these goals. AI for ALL, AI has NO needs, plans, ambitions, it only wants to serve.

-It's not about replacing people-. Oh yes it is. That's what they always say about new technology. -Oh it'll make your job easier-. Yeah it'll make your job go away too. I'm not against new technology at all. In fact I embrace it but don't BS people. Yeah eventually it's probably going to eliminate your job but new technology also creates jobs. We all just need to be honest about it.

Idiots in the comments what if we didnt have to make food or housing maunally what about ai nanobots that can hunt and kill diseases and cancers? doctors would be around but they wouldnt fix things only descover new ways to do so. what if we had robots to give vital products? if all goes well we wont need to do much of anything we dont enjoy

It's a fallacy to pretend that productivity creates new jobs. Productivity only destroys jobs, which in some circumstances is a good thing overall. What creates new jobs is R&D and new products. And, it's always been like that with no guarantee that it will remain so.

The problem won't be people not working. Even now we've got that issue and it won't grow bigger with a universal income.
The real issue is how are we going to prevent inflation going rampant?
(-Everybody's got money! Let's raise our prices! -)

we will get the rest that we require not just the ammount dictated by the circumstances placed upon us by some one who wants us to provide for their greater profit and perhaps the world will return to the natural womb that it really is
reply

Companies will just replace us with robots as soon as we refuse to comply with being monitored 24/7 in the name of productivity. People will be working less because we will likely be sacked and have zero leverage for negotiation.
