Google's new Ai-powered messaging app, Allo, lets you chat with Google while you chat with your friends. It's the first step toward making Google truly conversational

I can personally say that any time someone sends me a picture of pet and i'm not interested, I just say -beautiful dog. - So in terms of functional conversations, I don't think Allo is a hit, but there are some other cool features. I'm curious to see the end product and how it compares to iMessage apps.

Would be nice if actually it came up with original answers. I don't need an artificial intelligence so I can write lameass answers like -How nice-. Furthermore outsourcing human to human conversations to machines is maybe not the right way. Amazing technology though.

The whisper-shout feature is the killer feature. Simple, yet solves a lot of written communication problems. Would have saved Elaine a relationship that she broke when that guy didn't put an exclamation at the end.

Just what everybody needs, Someone you don't know listening to all your conversations. The world is becoming so exiting.
And don't forget it will want access to your camera so they can see who is talking.

i'm not really seeing the point of ai bots. like i get it for things like businesses where they can have ai bots for helping customers but when things like this come into play i don't get what the point is.

Why are they making this but not making a way to text message people from PC? That could save countless hours and make life so much easier but this is just plain lazy and silly.
reply

you guys are stuck thinking laziness but ignoring the fact that technology is moving forward. and we all know you'd use the suggestion box when nobody is looking.
reply

that awkward moment when the other party knows you are too lazy to type your thoughts and you use automatic reply for his graduation/wedding etc.
reply

We should have some form of messaging where we can talk to eachother without having to text. Like, we can hear each others voice! .wait
reply

personally as someone who is dyslexic this looks great. You could
respond in the way you want to and not just the way you can spell
