9: 00: Fast forward to 2020; On 23 November, the trial of Nicolas Sarkozy started who is accused of corruption and influence peddling, for an attempted bribery of a judge. The trial was postponed until November 26, following a request from one of his co-defendants for health reasons. On 30 September 2021, Sarkozy was convicted along with his co-defendants. For this conviction, Sarkozy was given a one-year prison sentence, though he was also given the option to serve this sentence at home with an electronic bracelet.

Was the last year I was in Florida, over a thousand miles away from home, and it was fully of so many ups and downs for me. Was really happy to hear Vonnegut mentioned as his work has been a major part of my life from my late teens onward. I can still recall exactly where I was when I heard the news and immediately calling my mother to get some sense of comfort (even if I wasn't aware of my own emotions at the time, she definitely picked up on it.

Im STILL upset I didn't shout out ASS-HOLE! as I passed him by the most random chance as I was making a delivery in Perth Amboy, NJ, only I feel even WORSE on account of discovering the reason he was around was due to his stop at The Skylark in Edison where my wifey (who was a server at the time, before we even met, and said he was a total dick who showed 0 respect to everyone but the cook. So yea. still pist it didn't come out.

FYI, Tony dies in the finale. The fade to black is him being killed, you probably don't even hear the shot. hes killed in front of his family. David Chase slipped and called it The death scene.
Also Many Saints Of Newark was trash, even David Chase said he wished he'd gone back and rewatched Sopranos because of all the inconsistencies he caused.

As a Peruvian, I am glad you included the earthquake in Peru. I became a mom for first time January 2007, visited Peru in April (saw the news about Virginia Tech there) came back to my home in FL and when the earthquake happened in August, I was worried about family back in Peru. Certainly, a year full of events.

I have trouble getting through these because the years 2000 to 2024 have been so bad. Even when the segment covers something like An Inconvenient Truth, all I can think is, Yeah, we really paid attention to that. Gezz, when you get to Maria Hingis being a coke hag, how can you keep watching

I miss my Env3 cellphone that had an actual keyboard! I kept it as long as I could until the touchscreens took over. But I spent a few of my golden years from 13 - 16 years old mastering a keyboard for texting only to have it become outdating technology.

I mostly remember the Chris Benoit double murder suicide from that year which took place between June 22 and June 24

I was 28 and just moved back to the US from South Korea. I started my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction. I was only going to be in the US for 2 years and then back to teaching in Italy. Instead I got married and moved to Florida in 2009.

The Many Saints of Newark had very little to do with young Tony Soprano contrary to the way the movie was marketed and how it was described in this video. It was entirely about Dickie Maltisanti, much to everyone's chagrin.

After only 11 months of marriage and a FAILED attempt to owning a house my now ex-wife walked away from it and me on November 22 of this year leaving me to vacate the property by DECEMBER 9TH. sad trombone moment.

07 was my high school graduation year! Times were good, movies, tv, and music were still good! Crazy how in just a couple of years, all of that went to crap in my eyes and ears!
