Links between holiday traditions and pagan culture are well established - and occasionally celebrated - but there are also a lot of misconceptions about paganism that make the word itself a bit taboo. Paganism isn't something to be feared or shunned. In Latin, pagan was simply the word for villager or civilian. Religious connotations that developed during the Middle Ages made pagans into heathens rather than outsiders. With all that in mind, there continues to be a pervasive presence of paganism in the modern world. The: A good example of how well Christianism complements well with paganism can be found in Dante's famous work The Divine Comedy. In this work, Dante introduced the structure and functioning of Hell as we know today, using many elements and characters from Greek-Roman mythology. The warm reception that this work received shows that Christianity and paganism can make a good mix

The tradition of carrying the bride in the arms of the husband during the wedding also has a pagan origin. The ceremonies of Roman weddings consisted of imitations of the mythical Rapture of the Sabine Women. In one of them, the bride and husband pretended that he snatched her from her parents' arms and then he carried her in his own arms through the front door of their new home. In fact, during the ceremonial procession, the wedding's guests used to sing this song about the kidnapping of the most beautiful Sabine by Thalassius's men:
Where are you taking me!
To Thalassius the Respectful!
Why are you taking me!
Because he thinks you are very beautiful!
What will be my destiny!
To Marry him. To be his mate!
What god will save me!
All the gods have blessed this bond!

1: 44 these cultures STARTED celebrating [] Halloween dates back to the Celtic festival.
How do we know it was a much older tradition that they were just continuing? Big, big difference between a date being the oldest evidence we've found and said date being the first time someone did something. Big difference, that historians keep failing to take into account. And then they get so surprised when new evidence forces them to push 'established' dates back.
Perhaps the Celts invented Halloween. I'd say it's way more likely they didn't. And so on with so many 'first' instances.

We learned 'Oest' in German means East which referred to eastern European (Romani/Slavic) practices and Ottoman practices. Never heard about this goddess character, just thought it came from absorbing Eastern fertility practices (hence all the eggs and bunnies now - symbols of pagan fertility that got blended in)

I just like how some people say they don't celebrate Halloween because it's a pagan ritual but yet they celebrate everything else. Am I wrong to just think that these people are being picky in their selection of what they want to celebrate?

When someone asks my religion, I like to say that I'm an Ex-Catholic, Zen Buddhist, Rastafarian Wiccan with Christian leanings, and a strong admiration for the Jewish people. Then I sit back and enjoy the look on their face.

The earth and people are being destroyed by rulers and preachers that reject Lord God Almighty to embrace Heathenism and idols. Most people love evil and Not God. We all are paying for this. Just look around. Yuck!

And yet history has also clearly proven, that there are no pagans more uncivilized than the pagans who proclaimed to the world that they were civilized good christians aka Inter Caetera.

Saying Bless you when you sneeze. Same thought that you were losing your soul like yawning. We should replace all of that and say YOUR SO GOOD LOOKING. I don't know, it sounds better.
