I was only 7 in 1970, but let me tell you my take away of 1970! At 7 years old, from a developmental standpoint, we REALLY start learning big stuff, AND understanding it, and of course, memory is working better than at 4 or 5, right? So, looking back, reminiscing, 1970 to me, was _STILL the 60's! _ I have memories of 4, 5, and 6 years old in the 60's (and by the way, the 60's still had a LOT of 50's influence and music/cars/etc, ask anyone from that era, and THE 70's didn't really start until 72 or 73, and I think it's like that for each decade of change, or at least was, I kind of think everything is staying the same from the 90's on, no REAL changes! :(

I was 5 years old in 1970 so my memories of that year center on things like my first day of kindergarten and learning my ABCs.
My dad took me to my first day of school and was there when my kindergarten teacher introduced herself to me. She was young and pretty and when she said her name was Miss Kalin, I wondered what miss meant as all the adult women in my life to that point had been Mrs. ____. My dad told me that meant shes not married, so I looked up at her and said, Ill marry you!

I was born in march of 1970 so not many memories from that year but such an interesting year in history and unfortunately sad year in music as far as Rock icons like the 27 club and by 77 I loved listening to Jimi Hendrix, Kiss, The Beatles, Janice and many more it was a great decade to be a kid

My favorite thing about the 70's, Being a kid growing up. Though I think I preferred the pre 75 years over the 76 to 80 years. Those where my high school years and who really like high school, Not me, High School is when things got serious and ya had to grow up.

Ive watched all your 70s, 80s and 90s videos and absolutely loved them all. As a solid gen x each of these decades were a part of my life. I genuinely hope youll do both the 50s and 60s as well. I rarely comment but watch often, keep up the great work.

I really wish I could have done the original music for this series. Each episode would have sounded so appropriate to the year, sonically and stylistically. Im such a nerd for that stuff. It would have been the perfect gig.

My favorite memory is that I graduated from high school in Charleston, WV in 1970. Turned 18 and joined the Navy to see the world. Saw Corpus Christi, Texas, but that was a world away from rural West Virginia. Great year!

At the beginning of 1970 I was eight years old. Watching this makes me realize what was going on so much when I was a child and I think at that age I didnt have a full comprehension. All I can say is wow!

Altamont was a disaster that should have never happened. Why were the Hells Angels acting as bodyguards? Mick Jagger threatened to stop playing unless the violence and beatings stopped.

Thank you for this video and reminding me that the fashion, music, film and general aesthetic of the 70s was the most hideous era in living memory

My fondest memory of 1970 was being born. Ok, I don't exactly remember it, I suppose, but still. Definitely was a good year for me personally.

Wow. This was interesting. I didn't know many of those. Perhaps because I was a very young child and on the other side of the world: )

How can you produce an entire documentary of every year of the 70's without mentioning The Rolling Stones US tours once?

Could you please do the 1960's? I would like to track my life from birth to now and need the 1960's to do it.
