As other comments have pointed out, there was a lot more good she did that I feel like wasn't stressed enough, since most of the records were made to make her look worse by the following rulers. Besides her cutting taxes, reassuring the lives of the common people, storing rice for times of crisis and namely giving women many more rights, social standing and positions as state officials, the country also prospered under her great diplomacy. Archaeological finds indicate that China was very wealthy during her reign and could afford valuables from all around the world. She secured trade routes like the silk road and some art from that time indicates that she had good diplomatical relations with and was respected by other nations' rulers, so saying her reign was quite peaceful is an understatement. She secured that peace, good relations to other countries and China's prosperity herself! This woman was ICONIC!

If everyone thinks Wu Zhetian was powerful and deadly that no one would dare to rise up against her, you're wrong. Yall forgot about the 'Hung' society, a secret society that overthrew the qing dynasty. If the Hung Society can overthrow the Qing dynasty, i'm very sure Wu Zhetian would be overthrown too. The Hung society is a secret society formed after the Southern Shaolin temple was burnt down. Only five monks escaped. These five monks, also known as the five elders are the father of many secret societies created to overthrow the Qing. If i were in Wu Zhetian's time, i would create secret societies to overthrow her.

About Wu Zetian's daughter's death, I have heard that the earliest recirds state that her daughter was born sickly and later on died of illness. Later versions say that it was the Lady Wang who did it, under WuZetian's rule. And the even later versions say it was Wu Zetian herself. Whatever you believe, whoever is in power will rewrite history to their liking. Yes, later on Wu did kill family members, but I am more prone to believe that Wu Zetian's little girl died if illness.

Also it's very unlikely that Wu killed her own daughter there's no concrete evidence to support it it's more likely that the baby died from an unknown illness there's a couple that can just sneak up on infants especially in the first couple weeks hence why it's important to be vigilant however an ancient times they wouldn't have completely understood these illnesses

I actually heard somewhere that she made her government officials perform cunnilingus on her in front of the court in order to prove their loyalty. lol. not sure how accurate that is, but I found it to be utterly intriguing and hilarious. if I wish a mf would was a person, she'd definitely claim that title. lol
