Seeing as it came at the end of the War of Roses, I wonder if it could have been some type of widespread poisoning attempt among the elite and court members. Especially considering how quick & effective it was. The spreading from countries seems more consistent with disease but hypothetically enough spies getting involved could carry the tactic across borders. Of course, people during this time also accidentally poisoned themselves all the time. Who knows. Weird that it just went away too.

If not for the sweating sickness Catherine of Aragon and Mary may have lived happier lives Catherine never would have married That Narcissistic Psychopath Henry because Arthur would have been alive to be Mary's father and who knows he may have e good to them and maybe Catherine would have had sons that survived and even if not maybe Arthur loved her enough to not get bored with her and do t he mean things Henry did to her and to Mary

If it were poor sanitation and contaminated water than why aren't there reports of children and the elderly getting it, plus it is focused mainly the nobles and royals? I would assume diet, since the rich ate a lot of meat, bread, and alcohol, which we know is a bad thing today.

Sounds like someone distributed some MDPV.
Methylene Dioxy PYRO Valerone. It is tasteless, colorless, & nearly invisible and it causes a catastrophic, irreversible spike in core [body] temp thatd be hard to deal with-for medical health professionals, TODAY.

Charles Brandon married Mary Tudor who was Henry VIIIs sister, not his daughter. Edward VI was never at Cambridge or Oxford. The Brandon brothers may have been but Edward never was. When they were there, in 1551, Edward was in London being King.

If it effected very few children or elderly, and attacked mostly upperclass, could it have been something diet related? The upperclass ate a mostly rich, meat filled diet and few vegetables. What other differences between classes and ages?

Man, Europe was a dirty, overcrowded, poverty stricken, war infested, disease ridden place. So many plagues, death and destruction. Then, they gave it to the world. About half of Europe's population died from various plagues.

I read that the wealthy left the big cities during the summer. To avoid the sickness they went to their country estates. The King would go on his yearly journey around the country side.

You're showing the wrong Henry. Charles Brandon was married to Henry VII's daughter Mary Tudor, former Queen of France. Charles was good friends with Henry VIII though.

All disease and other ills of society do originate from sin and evil. God does sometimes use them for judgment, but otherwise are just a natural consequence of a fallen world.

There's a video game, Yu-Gi-Oh Duelists of the Roses. In the game Henry Tudor is Yugi's ancestor and he says he has grown tired of his name and prefers to be called Yugi.

Do you think much like today with pandemics it could have been intentional by some higher ups to get rid of competition or overpopulation? Or get rid of the unwanted?

This sounds like dengue, high temperature, sweating and body aches. You can get sick again from it and you can die from dehydration.

Maybe more rich people died, because they could afford doctors who'd bleed them, purge them and blister them among other things.

The sweat seems to have disappeared once modern plumbing showed up. Maybe plumbers are more important than most think.

I think it was poison. Maybe a group of people hated the wealthy upper class, so they contaminated their water.
