Men with thick beards had a higher survival rate than those without, cuz they would appear less manly and suffer all the conciseness that a less manly man would suffer in early human tribes thousands of years ago. Also Women would chose to mate with the manliest of the bunch (if they had a choice at all) so beards survived: D

Having a lot of hair on your body (like monkeys) impedes effective swimming. Humanity mostly evolved in and around river delta's. So a competing theory not covered in this video is that swimming was the evolutionary pressure that made us lose hair.

If less hair is better at dispensing heat for a more active lifestyle, why do cats and dogs still have fur despite being more active than us? Couldn't we have evolved the same heat loss systems they might have?
