Want more? Try the buried treasure riddle: Taking that internship in a remote mountain lab might not have been the best idea. Pulling that lever with the skull symbol just to see what it did probably wasnt so smart either. But now is not the time for regrets because you need to get away from these mutant zombies. fast. Can you use math to get you and your friends over the bridge before the zombies arrive? Alex Gendler shows how. Lesson by Alex Gendler

Solve in 14 minutes:
you and girl go first = 2 mins
you return with lamp = 1 min
you give lamp to jan + prof then go back = 1min(just tell them to wait for 1 minute and slightly longer just in case they go too early, you have a surplus of time)
jan and prof go = 10 min
= 14 minutes

Me: So, if there are only 2 people allowed on the bridge, then what is the point of cutting the rope? If they cut the bridge, it would take longer to repair and would say that the zombies are somewhere between 3. 5 and 4 times lighter than humans are. The bridge surely would collapse nonetheless.

Before I see the answer:
You + Assistant go first (+2 min)
You run back and give the lantern to Janitor + Professor (+1 min)
They go across the bridge together (+10 min)
Assistant goes back with lantern (+2 min)
You + Assistant run across (+2 min)
=17 min
Edit: :)

When Ted-Ed know their audience so well they make a whole section for all the tricks that are not allowed (including, of course, swinging across and befriending the zombies.
I mean, we are still here suggesting the piggyback but nice try!

You only need 1 minute to finish your homework, your friend takes 4 min, the Karen next door takes 20 min and Joe takes 1h.
You guy only got minute, what should you do?

reply

If the old professor had to go grabbing the ropes every step of the way then he didn't need the fricking lantern to cross.
