Brexit Explained: What Could Happen to the UK Next? Im northern irish i have a british passport and I think staying part of the United kingdom is going to be worth it. Plus in the republic of Ireland the cost of living is sky high and there health care is inferior to our British NHS and down in the republic they charge you your kids school education so no were happy enough being british --. Besides the republic of Ireland wants to be part of the British commonwealth why dont they just have a referendum on rejoining the UK then wed be a happy family again the United kingdom of great Britain and Ireland. It would sort out the border because if they do not rejoin the UK there going to be hardest hit economically speaking and Irish republic citizens will suffer. so rejoin our family and well be a superpower the United kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. europe will be on its knees before us.

Just to state the primary rationale of Scotlands reasoning for NOT leaving the United Kingdom wasn't about being a part of the EU or not and a reasoning for 1 crucial point to the latter is they wouldn't own the north sea and it wouldn't be gifted to them as well as not having permission to continue with our -valuable- currency.
If they voted to leave the Union of Britain they would already be a default part of the EU just like Greenland was when they gained full independence hence prompting them to leave among other various bits and bobs Scotland would lose like their health spendings and development that would literally stop dead as they barely generate enough tax to pay their own political reps in hollyrood.

Alternate reality: Scotland and Northern Ireland decide to leave the UK in order to join the EU, with NI uniting with the Republic of Ireland. Only England and Wales stay part of the UK, which renames itself to just England, and uses the red plus flag. All countries which do have the Union Jack in their flag (like New Holland/Australia, New Zealand, Tuvalu, etc) simply remove it.
What do you think of this change?

The Shetland Islands are in Scotland & UK by the way. So they need to be in a map of the UK at all times, and not cut off, and when visible should be filled in with colours colours or flags, as appropriate, in the maps.
Interestingly, the Isle of Man is not in the UK, and has never been a member of the EU. So it should not be filled in with colours or flags in the maps.

Things to consider: population
UK total today: 68 M
North Ireland: 2 M
London: 9 M
Scotland: 7M
Wales: 3 M
England: Rest
So importance of english polls is way higher than others combined.

Not at all. London is the capital of the UK. We the British will never allow London to leave the UK. We will destroy and deport all traitors who do not surport this country who founded democracy.

EU did not exist until 1993 we voted to stay in the EEC in 1975 a trade group as it was. We were never given a vote on the conversion from EEC trade group to EU political group
reply

It isn't true that Scots voted this way or that way. It's only true that people living in Scotland voted one way or another. Same for all the -regions- of the so-called UK.

After 2020 December 31, UK Prime minister Boris Johnson Declared that UK is now 100% Left the European Union and they are celebrating Independence from EU.

It would be a sad day indeed to see the United Kingdom shatter into pieces, ending over 300 years of a unique union of countries.
reply

No we didn-t vote to go into the eu we voted to go into a trade union that then gained more and more power without public approval
