Thinking positively and having a positive attitude can really help when you're learning to play a musical instrument. Sometimes you may find that you're actually practising quite hard but you feel you're a bit stuck and things aren't really progressing. This music performance lesson is designed to help you think about how you might deal with these particular challenges and move into a more positive mindset. to positive thinking for musicians 1:46 - I'm not good at this 4:42 - I give up 6:10 - This is too hard 8:20 - I can't do this 9:08 - I've got this wrong

Here in addition to the great video two book recommendations for all who want to dive deeper into the matter:
- Dr Carol Dweck - Mindset
A famous book about talent vs deliberate practice
- Joe Hirsch: The Feedback Fix: Dump the Past, Embrace the Future, and Lead the Way to Change
This is more a recommendation for all who are interested in teaching
Gareth is this kind of rare person that entirely lives what he preaches :-)

I've been through all those stages; and it is cyclical, like cycles of learning. And at every new stage I find myself listening to the written voices on that white board... It is a very good process, a flexible way to inspire discipline, responsability and determination.
Thank you for another good lesson.
