How to play a C Major Scale on the piano. If you want to learn your scales make a start with C major. There are no sharps and no flats, and the scale uses a fingering system that then applies to many other scales. This video explains it all in detail in both the right hand and the left hand. You can even see the keyboard light up with the notes that need to be played, and you can see the fingers on the keyboard. Make a great start with your scale playing today! to C major scale 0:44 - Learning the right hand 2:28 - Learning the left hand 4:41 - Play them with me

Hi. Nice video there !! I wanted to ask this my piano teacher told me that a major scale consist of 7 notes (separated by whole step or half step ) . And what you showed in this lesson, you used the pattern 3-4-3-4-1 if I m right. Now that's more than 7 notes in a major scale,so clearly we can use more than 7 notes in a major scale. Is that right ??
I hope it makes sense.... Im so confused!!!

Gareth, I am a beginner, albeit and aged one. I am just following a few of your videos with a view to buying some sets. The C major scale in the video, using the electronic aid/gizmo, is played at a particular speed. Can I or would I be able to purchase the gizmo so I could use it to play this and other scales at a greater speed.
