I have one HUGE note here.
You're making it sound like the natives were peaceful people that got displaced by colonizers. This simply was not the case.
The reason colonists did what they did is because the European way of warfare didn't work in the Americas. Native tribes were insanely inhumane. They worked the same as vikings, they raided villages, and manhood was earned by collecting scalps. Certain native tribes like the Comanche were so violent and strong they forced other tribes and colonists to pay them tribute in order to avoid utter annihilation. Even English generals stated war with the Comanche means certain death and destruction.
They captured enemies, tortured them and enslaved many. They actually took great pride in collecting scalps and hands of women and children because it meant they hit the heart of the settlement that they raided.
Colonists had to adept to this way of life and combat in order to actually maintain the ground they owned. This in turn led to the formation of the original Rangers.
It would've been nice if you actually incorporated some of this into the video.

These reviled people won through treachery and lies. Their policy was divide and rule. And the wolrd suffered during the pathetic inhumane colonial rule.
Only after WW2 is the world healing as it was a blessing for the colonies paving way for their independence.
The artificially created Bengal famine killed millions that could have been saved of not for their racist policies.
Most of the present conflict in the middle east, Africa, and South Asia can be traced back to the evil rule of the British empire.
I say good riddance with this empire of pathetic evil.

Ok 1: 38 in is unfortunate, because you did not thoroughly check your sources. The gunpowder plot was not lead by Guy Fawkes in anyway shape or form- he was just the hired help who had a knowledge about explosives. If you had even just checked Wikipedia, something historians dont quote in itself, but do look at it for source data would say that the actual leaders are Robert Catesby, and Thomas Percy (a cousin of the earl of Northumberland.
People always check your facts and importantly list your sources.

William III died in 1702, not 1701. And a little mention that there are so many more faults in this video, but they are more historiographic in nature (was the financial revolution also an English invention Did the Amsterdam stock exchange not exist. You probably used a English history written by a revisionist English historian of which there are many. The saddest thing is that this crap will nowadays easily be taken as truth worldwide due to English being a lingua franca.

knowledgia you forgot to mention that the whole English civil war was funded by the English Jews who were expelled from England by the crown,
The Jewish bankers of England were expelled to the low countries an had there assets seized by the English crown so in return they financially supported Cromwell's rebellion against the crown in return for a right of return to England and there assets restored
An we have the bank of England and the city of London because of it

A detail. After the Dutch establish their colony at the mouth of the Hudson the Iroquois acquired firearms which allowed them to establish an empire that reached all the way to the Mississipi, A tributary Empire, They finally lost it when they divided during the Revolutionary war, The reason for the empire was the huge fur trade that was first developed by the Dutch and thee French and then with the English based in New York,

Dear lord! You mean the United Kingdom of Great Britain, not England! It's like saying California when you mean the USA! The Scots took over England with the Stuarts. there wasn't any conquest by either country, just one king with two thrones. Then, later, Queen Anne, who was Queen of England, Scotland and Ireland, united the thrones in 1707 and created the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland under one crown.

I have an MA in History albeit (the Medieval period of England and France) but found unusually for the American take on England and Great Britain so Anglophobic that this excellent balanced video is superb.
If a teacher I would use this as material for explaining the regicide and birth of the Commonwealth during the 17thc a very useful tool for explaining this period of English history.

That you fail to mention that the areas now known as New York and New Jersey (and Pennsylvania and Delaware) did not become British until 1664 when the Dutch and Sweds were kicked out of New Amsterdam and the Delaware River basin, is a major and glaring historical error. Your clear inference that NY and NJ were English in the 1630s and '40s is just downright inaccurate and wrong.

The information about African trade is wrong. The British didn't show up in Africa with the specific interest of acquiring human labor forces. they were simply there to trade and the only thing the African market offered in exchange for British goods were human laborors (whom the africans captured and also used themselves without any coercion from the British.

13: 14 nah bro, them pilgrims were evangelicals. Think of the taliban, but British Christian version. They wanted an extreme version of Christianity and the British folks said hell naw. So, the pilgrims decided to book it and go practice the Christian version of Salafism in the Americas.
Part of the bed rock of the shot hole that is America.

Horrible Histories did a parody of Cromwell and it had the actor playing him becoming even more angry n agitated at his relatives blatant attempts to violate his silly laws right in front of his face. Well them mentioning it and having Cromwell like a big sour puss keep on calling for GUARDS and none coming. It was very funny.

Those in Parliament should have challenged the King more directly. it didn't seem fair, that they challenged those under him instead
Then Parliaments persecution of Catholics which was also wrong.
I was hoping to see Parliament, and that which represented the people to a large degree as being more honourable, noble and fair

I thought african slavery was from stronger african kingdoms raiding smaller ones for land too. Whether or not the english or europeans were there, it wouldve happened. I think the european technology is most likely what made it possible to a higher degree as it compounded the strength of certain kingdoms.

I'm American and most of my ancestors came from Calvinists who settled from England and to a lesser extent the Scottish and Welsh Calvinists.
I'm not English or Scottish or Welsh myself. I just descend from them.
So I'm calling descent not ethnic membership.

Good this does eventually give a nod to the scientific revolution, maritime/navigation technology, the rise of banking, agricultural advances, etc -- the soap opera of the monarchy tends to make a simplification of history (and make it feel dull for school kids.

6: 45 why exactly were the north and west more royalist and the south and east more parliamentary I know he mentions martial law being ordered in some southern areas but were there any other reasons why those regions typically sided the way they did

That’s the British empire my man. Like it or not, we were all responsible for this tiny Island controlling over a quarter of the globe.
Be proud of that, they glorify the Roman empire so we should glorify our history as well.
