Because that’s the Hispanic half of Drakes California independent from Europe and Spain and it goes all the way to Drake passage Argentina there’s also the northern half but the colonies believed France is great even after Napoleon forces lost in California before the reign of terror and Napoleon crowning himself and forgoing the new world for his eastward war of betrayal
And the east coast colonies were listening to Spain, and don’t know California was there since 1577 because of Spain and only believed it was mexico Spain even after Spains representation over seas had ended, going as far as trying to buy California from Mexico and Spain after the annexations after hundreds of yrs of war that ended Spains and Portugals slave trade enterprise and collapsed the slaving empire.
1851 and they think San Francis-co is Spanish with English ships founded 1776, and we immediately have a civil war to end the east’s slavery

Mexico never really occupied lands north of the Rio Grand. Spain attempted to turn over everything north of the Rio Grand to the Pacific when the United States took Florida. Adams finished the negotiations and there was no way that New England era was going to allow the south and west to grow, so he cut the deal off at the Mississippi. When Spain withdrew from Mexico, it left a void north of the Rio Grand that Mexico tried claim, but never had the power to hold or a legitimate claim on. Nevertheless, being dumb as a box of rocks, the Mexicans had to get their butts kicked by white farmers in Texas. Still lacking the brains required to survive in the first world, the Mexican got their butts kicked all the way to their capital by the United States Army made up of civilian militias, while Mexico had a professional army that proved to be good at throwing down their guns and running.

The whole Northern Areas of Mexico were very sparsely populated by the Mexicans. The region of Texas had a higher population, but was mostly populated by Americans who were invited to live there by Mexico, to boost population.
Texas therefore ended up having a very American population, and was also effectively cut off from the rest of Mexico, as the region between Texas and Mexico was still effectively under the control of the Native population, and travel through there was dangerous.
The rest of Northern Mexico was just plain sparsely populated by all but the Natives, so was more of a land claim then properly controlled territory.

You are so wrong and omitted many things.
For example:
Texas was invaded by illegals anglos settlers with slaves. Mexico abolished slavery and they did not like it so they fought for independence with the support of USA.
Also USA was on doctrine Manifest Destiny looking to expand the territory by all means.
Freemasons from York and scottish got involved in the internal matters in Mexico, Santa Ana was one of them.

Let's set apart all IGNORANT hypothesis by OFFICCIALISTS saying SANTA ANNA SOLD the territory. Those lands were mostly UNHABITTED (That intells NO ONE COULD PROTECT THEM) And Santa Anna fought all wars possible to protect them. but ran out of soldiers and resources. SO THEY WERE FORCED TO SURRENDER THOSE TERRITORIES. MANUEL PENA SIGNED THOSE SELL-OFFS, NOT SANTA ANNA
reply

From what I remember, Texas was stolen, yes stolen by sending troops making them think they were getting invaded so they killed them and those same troops didn't know they were being sent to their death all so that they have an excuse to take texas by force. The others I think we're sold and one by force. This is before I seen the video to see if im right.

Before america and Mexico we kept those tribes out trespassing was a death sentence because they were savages who sacrificed their own people they were conquerors, colonizers and enslavers of tribes. They never really made any lead way up here until the 500 year war when dumb people allied with them and started calling it Mexico and America

The Spanish followed by Mexico claimed the land but never substantially occupied it. It was an easy thing to have an explorer plant a flag. That doesn’t create a realistic claim. So Mexico didn’t lose territory. It never had a defensible claim to it. The territory was open to anyone who occupied, invested in, and defended it.

Used to be Mexico l Americans whoop that ass and took over just like any country that wants land it's not stolen it's war! So all these people flying the Mexican flag in America! Go back to your 3rd world country then and kick the cartels ass to make Mexico great but you can't because your president is bought by them!
reply

Because Santa Ana took a Siesta! Are you kiddin me with this one. That boi Sam didn't even want to fight him. He just waited until he literally caught that lazy Mexican with his pants down. Now tell me about how superior cultures don't exist, we literally won because lazy Mexicans were taking a nap.
reply

They sold it that's why. I didn't even need to watch this video I saw on my feed and had to just say this but they sold that land to the u. S that's why they lost so much. They sold it. They sold it. They sold it the land was stolen by Spain and in Spain sold it to America. That's why you're welcome
reply

because they didnt actually control the territory its like the Louisiana Purchase we dndt even have to pay France for that land we could a just taken it. the french had a few trading posts in that entire territory what makes that theirs and yes I know native americans lived there SO SAD

When the Mexican - American war ended, congress gave serious consideration to annexing the ENTIRE country of Mexico, but in the end, they decided it would be too much trouble and cost too much money to indoctrinate the mexican people into American culture (insert irony here.
reply

On the matter of Texas it should also be mentioned that it was sparsley populated until Mexico had the brilliant idea to invite settlers from the US which of course did backfire hard by securing the loyalty of the people there, for the USA that is.
reply

Because we couldn't squash the Texas revolution, which made us look weak to the U. S so they decided to start a war to take some land from us because why not, what are they going to do about it History has always benefited the stronger nations
reply

Hear me out Santa Anna was correct in 1853 to sell the small portion of land to the US. He was in no position to argue and Mexico was in no position to hold the US off if we wanted it. Now, the other mistakes. yeah. he made some of those.
reply

People are making up history. They did not have a claim to northern California, for example. None of this was part of education 50 years ago strange how it is poping up today for people to somehow give rise to some Mexican form of claim.
reply

Comanches were the true rulers of the Texas region at that time. Mexico simply had lines on a map with a sparse population in Texas hiding in forts. Whites were invited in as meat buffers, as Comanches would raid deep into Mexico.
reply

It has always baffled me why mexico continues to be such a poor country. They have fertile land, a year round growing season, access to two oceans, and rich mineral deposits. They've been very lucky to be neighbors with the US.
reply

THey can't even run what they have right now. Perhaps if the US took over Baja and the Yucatan (and throws out the small, brown, squat, overweight, but hard-working, population) Mexican might just begin to work properly.
