Well i bought 8, 40A rated solid state relais, but in real life they can only do 12A! That is if they are the same you had. I will need to disassemble one and look into the parts. I cannot risk a fire!
I have to know what i am working with. Maybe i can work around the problem and use 2 solid state relays to handle the current in parallel. But like i said; I will have to tear one apart, before putting the mains power on the relay.

9: 54 Could this not also happen with the comercal product when you fix it on a cooling plate?
Btw. In such application a component claimed to take 40A, when it can only take 16A is big criminal. It is danger for people life. Just to mention SSR's are e. g. using in airplanes. I hope Airbus, Boeing, Douglas and all the others don't buy their parts in China.

If you are drawing the 40A on the BUY, aren't you risking life and limb as well with mains? At least the DYI you know won't go above 12A.
I was hoping for a DC relay, just to see how I might make a 4 way solid state switch for 30A.

Hello,
As we know mechanical relay provides 3 connection. Com/NO/NC.
Is there any way that we can make our own Solid state relay with 3 connection?
Im not an electronic guy, so guide me.

Great job. What would you recommend as the most current that 40AMP SSR be used with good cooling (heat sink and fan? I'm using it on 23 AMP and have not had one fail yet but the ice is thin

stop using the phrase so called already, This it is a phrase in English that denotes skepticism. It sounds like you want to rename every electronic component you come across.

Excuse me, but you cannot say that a solid state relay has provide galvanic isolate just checking the continuity with your meter. You need at leat a megometer to check it.

Isn't the current in the circuit with the 1000 ohm resistor 0. 024 A if we neglect the resistance of the relay, thus the power loss is 0. 035W. Just saying

There is quite a few videos of those fake Chinese SSR around that blew up in smoke. i have yet to integrate mine in a project as I don't trust them
