Thank you very much for your nice technical sharing. I applied this project, it works. I'll request something from you. In this project, can you revise this program so that we can trigger the SSR with two or three pulses?
It must be triggered for the set time and stop triggering for 50ms.
It should do this two or three times in a row.
Unfortunately, I don't know much about the Arduino program. I will be very glad if you help me in this matter.

This is great, but it is not crude enough. Could you do a video using a suitable mains transformer (please not another butchered microwave transformer? What would the specifications of the transformer be? Also, I want to use AC and not DC. I have a stick-welder and a 1KW transformer, which was used for normal metal welding. There should be way too much power available from either transformer as I have welded 5mm steel bars and even burned holes in 2mm sheet metal with them. Let us know how these transformers can be used for spot-welding these thin metal strips to 18650 batteries.

HI Scott, Thank you for your extensive research on your DIY Spot welder, I have a question, If you could answer or maybe investigate it would be good, Sitting a a 3rd world country makes getting electronic components rather tricky, especially if it's once off stuff, I have a few High current IGBT's from an old EV inverter that I stripped out of a used and discarded ev. Would it be possible to use one of those IGBT bricks instead of fets or a relay? Kind regards from Namibia.

I am in the process of making the spot welder using a Nano instead of the Pro Mini. I am making the board step by step and checking that it works after the completion of each stage. Now I am at the output stage and I cannot tell for sure witch pin of the Nano I should connect to the input of the TC4420. Can you please let me know for sure witch pin I should use?

great scott. plz when making a project, also give alternative components names, like i have everything except TC4420 MOSFET Driver, i can't find this specific driver locally, can i use another common one, like ir2104, IR2125, MC33151, IR2301 etc - i'm not electronics expert but i can copy - as you clearly explained all steps.

hey great video i have one question regarding that foot swithc. i have the same, but i dissasemble one just to see how it works, and i figure out it have some carbit rings and that confused me. can you explain how it works, i put it together after sissasembly and it works fine. if you have time to explain i would be gratefull

Bad idea! It's only a matter of time before those big relay contacts will weld themselves together. In 40+ years of working with electronics I have repaired countless circuits where relays that handle large currents have welded their contacts closed no matter how overrated the current handling was.

thank you so so much - i made this with slightly modifications, like i used trimpot because other one was fluctuating. added small relay at the output with controls the 16 mosfets connected in parallel. and welds were really great
