Now that we know how complex and interwoven climate change is with society globally, we can begin to see it everywhere. But that heightened awareness also means we can begin to see solutions everywhere. In this episode of Crash Course Climate & Energy, we break down what needs to happen in our governments, corporations, and communities to slow the increase of Earth's average temperature. Willie: None are you are actually fighting climate change because you would all have realized that things like UN and COP are full of hypocrites that never had a correct prediction and are only using it to justify their you will own nothing future. Also most activist are using it push their vegan and/or communist beliefs. If we were fighting Climate Change we would not be fear mongering about nuclear, dealing with china pollution, stop wasting time with feel good but useless ( sometime worse then leaving things the way they are) eco policies and admit that solar and wind are not going to save us at their current form and efficiency.

Build high density cities with multipurpose districts instead of low density specialized districts.
Plan infrastructure to facilitate the use of public transport and bikes to get to and from work or school.
Grow food locally using sustainable farming practices inspired by indigenous peoples.
Avoid monocultures, promote biodiversity.
Work to have as much land as possible re-forested and re-wilded to boost natural carbon-capture.
Don't throw away ugly fruits and vegetables or perfectly edible food items labled as expired.
Don't use synthetic fertilizers when you can use healthy soil with high biodiversity instead.
Apples and oranges come pre-packaged, avoid the extra layers of plastic packaging.
Ban planned obsolescence, push for electronics and other products to be made with repairability and long life-cycles in mind.
Move away from macroeconomic specialization and diversify local markets and industry, the competence clusters are online now.
Introduce DIY as a topic in all levels of education, promote maker culture.
Broad education, free education, good education.
Public infrastructure, not private infrastructure.
Organize into cooperatives.
Build air-ships.
Do art.

Massive manufactures produce tons of greenhouse gasses almost unchecked in the US, but the air quality solutions for most metropolitan areas is to make everyone pass emissions testing in order to register their vehicle each year. The SEVERELY affects disadvantaged and poor people, because getting the exhaust system on an older car fixed can cost 1, 000 or more if it's a catalytic converter. Someone stole your catalytic converter and you only had liability insurance? No coverage for you, so you can't pass emissions testing, so you can't register your car. Drive your car (because you need to work to live) and don't renew the registration on time? Pay a fine you can't afford because you can't afford the repair the car you need for work to make the paycheck you live from and to.

1. Energy output in most metro areas isn't fit to run electric water heaters
2. Battery manufacturing and disposal far outweighs the pollution of cars even if 25% of our current gas cars are replaced.
Also China and India are far more polluting than anyone who would sign that agreement so your wishful thinking needs more education and the technology you want needs vast improvement.

None of these solutions will work under capitalism. As long as there is private ownership of the means of production, there will always be large corporations with political powers to prevent advances in the fight against climate change. Any solution to the climate problem that is not anti-capitalist is pure idealism.

I can t wait for the last ice age to finally be over.
Polar ice is rain in storage. Arid regions will be green again especially with the increased Co2 that makes plants grow. The earth is a tropical paradise but not until the ice is all gone

Climate change is man made and man has deteriorated the bio-diversity of this planet. This glob was like a piece of paradise but Human, since centuries has violated the laws of the nature. Untill and unless it's stopped, earth is in great danger.

So if you ban the sale of gas cars what happens to the millions of existing vehicles? Is everyone going to buy a Tesla when that happens? No. People are going to continue to drive their gas vehicles.

This video is disgraceful. They asks us, the poorest, to change our ways, to stop eating meat. Not even once do they mention all the private planes celebrities and politicians own and use. Gtfotta here.

You don't need electricity storage if you just use nuclear. Focus on that! The side holding us up on nuclear (the only viable option to lower emissions) is the political left.

East Asia is causing most of the climate change. If USA and bunch of European countries do something its really like 5% of world waste. Absolute waste of time, should make this videos in Chinese
reply

They should change the terms Climate Change and Global Warming to Toxic Earth and Poisoned Planet. so people can't excuse the problem, with It's nice out today and It was cold in Texas
reply

We can only prepare for the worst. Fossil fuel use may be lessened, but there's no way it'll stop until the last drop of oil, gasp of natural gas, and vestige of coal are gone.
reply

Climate change is fought by fighting capitalism and patriarchy. Nothing else will do, if we don't address the ORIGIN of the source.
reply

Yikes, listing nuclear energy with the others like that's no big deal / gigantic risk.
Thanks for making this Video though.
