i have a question:
the dehydrogenation reaction defined as the removal of the water molecule from the alkanes' but in the example you gave there wasn't a water molecule in the alkane in the first place (no oxygen)
can you explain that?

Thank the universe for crash course. With Corona virus turning classrooms digital, I would never have had my questions answered about chemistry.
