The 1960s in America: Crash Course US History #40 simon: only thing in this video i disagree with is the notion that college students who protested the war in vietnam were protesting because they didn't want their friends to go - like. are you sure they didn't maybe. .. you know. .. oppose massive violence against a nation fighting for independence because america is and was obsessed with destroying communism, perceived or real, at any cost and is fine with killing people of color to do so? maybe? just a thought? i've never really found anything to critique in a crash course video before and i've been binging for two days so this is weird to me that i have a disagreement with something in yr vids lol

I am a bit disappointed that you didn't make a single Star Trek reference! Star Trek was a very progressive show from the late 60's that had the first interracial kiss on television, was the only show that MLK let his kids stay up late to watch, had a gay actor, and had a black woman that played a character other than a maid! I really think it should have been mentioned at least once.

SO MANY GOOD QUOTES!
-Great, the decade made famous by the narcissists who lived through it. -
-The University of Mississippi: America's Fallback College-
-Thank you, TV, for your one and only gift to humanity. Just kidding, Battlestar Galactica. -
-He also went to War on Poverty. Never go to war with a noun. You will always lose. -
AND HE'S FROM BIRMINGHAM TOO

Stonewall didn't just kick off the movement for gay rights and gay liberation, it also kicked off the fight for trans rights and trans liberation as a lot of the people targeted at Stonewall were trans women.

I had a dream of that time, I was getting some ice cream from a kind man from the good humor ice cream business. And I think the president was on the side of the ice cream cart.
I think it was 1963

B. Based on his points of focus and commentary, where do you think Jon Green falls on the political spectrum? Use some info from / his reactions within the video to support where you place him:

Lee Harvey Oswald did NOT assassinate JFK. The majority of recruits to the Vietnam War were the working poor of ALL complexions. Student deferments ends in 1968 with the Tete Offensive

It most likely wouldn't have made since for him to talk about this, but I think he should have at least mentioned something about the Manson family. : \

The 20s and 60s era feminists are the true powerful women that built America. Modern-day feminism groups have turned into a joke and is completely extreme.
