That brz needs some gasX that exhaust sounds horrible and I know why I build race headers and exhaust it's that sound is the cheap exhaust pipe they use like 1mm thick I use 1. 7mm to 2mm thick the cheap rasp sound and fart can noise disappears because the pipe is allot stiffer and results in a very low almost subsonic bass standing next to the car is a sweet low tone and inside the house like a plane is flying right over you and rumbles like subwoofers shaking the foundation right off the house but not noticeable outside

ECUtek or OFT to tune and disable the cold start timing.
FYI the stock cold start retards the timing to -15 to -8 degrees or so, and jumps to 7 degrees or so after 45 seconds. The torque app via OBD2 can monitor this info simply.
To combat rasp the stock front pipe is worth keeping if you want to use the catback. It doesn't effect tuning much, and is hardly worth power on the dyno. It would be worth a test on your video to see the difference, especially if you prefer the sound with the stock front pipe.

Incase you give two shits, the underbody plastic crap enabled the brz/86 to achieve a very low aerodynamic coefficient compared to many other cars which enabled a much better fuel efficiency figure without sacrificing as much on the engine side. In the aerodynamics world, the engineering of this car for a cheap factory vehicle was quite impressive. At the release of these I worked for Lockheed Martin as an aerostructrual engineer, it lead to some interesting conversations at the time.

Hey boys, my dad and I are massive fans of the show. My old man is keen on following your recipe for moding the BRZ/86. Would you be able to tell me what wheels you have on the BRZ and the size and offset? They look so sweet on there and have the right amount of rubber to match. Would be much appreciated.
Keep up the good work boys

Richard,
Excellent video as always, well done. But seriously I know you said a hoist will not fit in the garage. reconfigure the garage and put in a two Post Overhead Hoist. You two are young now trust me you will appreciate it when you get older. It will also make it easier for us to see what you are doing. Cheers!

Even my BMW E46 (with N42B18A engine) sounds like that. It sounds leaky too when cold but there is a blower motor (aka Secondary Air Pump ) on the exhaust to more quickly heat the cat up, so in order to be more environment friendly. But I guess it's also to fix the noise issues with modern cats. lol

Torque Dip: When you get up in the morning and have a raging stiffy and need to pee;
you get to the toilet/john/pot/bog and push down on your friend for a better chance of hitting the target;
your feet slip out from under you and you hit your chin on the water tank of your crapper.

Waiting to see when the check engine light comes on because you removed the monitored catalytic converter and kept the useless unmonitored one.
You did remove an emissions control device and did not put back in one the car can use for monitoring.
Car guys, yes. Mechanics of Subarus, no.

You guys got seriously lucky with those manifold fasteners. Pretty rare to see them spin off that easy, and not break at least one stud. It's not uncommon for someone, doing Subaru exhaust work, to have to drill out and replace at least one manifold stud.
