How to PROPERLY Install a Quick Release Steering Wheel (with Working Horn)
video description
I know that Chris has surely been given these parts from NRG themselves and that he probably will swap them for something better but don't buy their stuff, it's dangerous and you can find plenty of examples online, a couple of people I know have had failures of the quick release when racing/drifting.
Be safe and spend the right amount of money for these parts, they're basically safety equipment and you shouldn't cheap out on them, even Chris said the same.
Be safe.

Negative on the smaller wheel affecting steering angle(angles are consistent, the change is in the amount of torque due to the mechanical advantage that the larger wheel gives you. To change the amount of steering input delta to steering geometry delta, you either need to modify the gearing, or the alignment geometry. What DOES change, is that a smaller wheel means shorter distance delta to affect the same degree delta(and once again where the torque/leverage relationship changes.

Thats awesome, but one remark - when you unscrew center bolt from steering wheel - screw it back on 2-3 threads, and ONLY after that pull steering off. Most of the time its really hard to get steering off, so you have to pull it really hard. And without center bolt screwed in, you'll break your nose. Believe me, I know what I'm saying: (
And when you pulled off your steering wheel, you can unscrew that center bolt with your hand and remove steering completely.

One additional tip: If you remove the steering wheel wihtout a puller, I always leave the nut or bolt holding the wheel on threaded in for a couple of threats. So when the steering wheel is on there tightly, you don't hit yourself in the head with it, when it finally comes loose. Ask me how I know.

I wouldn't be surprised if by 2025 Chris builds a Trophy Truck and completes the whole Baja 1000 race all the way from Ensenada to La Paz using only common handtools, soapy wooder, and medium strength threadlocker.
Much love, I really enjoy watching the videos, plus I learned a lot!

I was really hoping you had a warning at the start warning people not to do this for their road cars. Lucky I was proven right, it would not be good if people came and put racing wheels in their cars and drove them normally on the roads. Fantastic video as always Chris!

I like how Chris go the extra mile and include the footage of older videos to show what he is talking about instead of just leaving a link in the top corner of the video to watch the older videos.
You can see the effort and dedication that goes into each video.

Chris, glad to see you back with videos. I just woul like to contradict regarding the cutting of the 6 o'clock part(or whatever part) of an steering wheel. Very short: just don't do it. If someone wants to know why I can elaborate. Keep up the good work: )

Great video. The only comment would be that I would get somebody to hold the steering wheel when breaking loose the steering wheel bolt/nut. Otherwise, the steering wheel lock pin might get damaged and cause some unwanted trouble. :)
