Learn how to replace rear shock absorbers fast and easy. This job takes 10min each side and saves you a lot of money if you do it yourself! To change the shocks you need a few sockets, a torque wrench, and that is basically it! Here is where I get my inexpensive shocks

Completed this job myself! RockAuto shocks for 21 each, basic hand tools, and 20 mins for the driver's side, and 5. 5 hours for the passenger side - UGH. It was rust-bonded to the lower stud. I'm finding EVERYTHING on the passenger side is more rusty - just 5 years in the salt-throwing midwest winters are BRUTAL on the car.

Hey Chris fix. I have a 2005 Toyota sienna AWD that i use to carry very heavy loads. Already changed the shocks and Springs but once it gets load up the back part drops too much. Is there any modification I can do so that the suspension hold up a little better, or maybe changed the suspension system for a different one?
reply

A good idea when torquing down bushings is to do it with the weight of the car on the suspension if possible. That'll keep the bushing from squeaking and wearing out prematurely because it's natural position is with the suspension hanging instead of loaded like it normally would be on the road.

How did you jack it up and secure it. I am a British 17year old and I have just bought a car, so I am not very familiar or experienced with them. I am studying carpentry. I bought the car to help my mum out until I have learnt to drive it. Love your videos. Thanks

so my 4 door. car makes a squeaky noise whenever I go over a bump, but only when I go a little to fast over the bump where it makes my car jump up high. When I have passengers in the back seat, it'll do it even more. Is it my shocks that are making the noise?

When you purchased the torque wrench, did you buy it with the 4 piece adapter set or just the torque wrench itself? Would really like to know. And as always great content very very informative.

so Hey chris one question, where do you get the pounds of torque you need to apply to the nuts and bolts on the cars?
I can't recall seeing this information on my owner's manual.

I need help. The part that holds the top bolt on my van was really rusty and broke. Now the bolt just turns when i screw it. Any help or tips on what to do next

Hi Chris! Would there be any bad effect if I change my stock rear shocks to a different brand and leave the stock front struts? Hope you can help me.

shocks made from 1995?
Damn, mine are made from 1996, I can't complain about mine, but yet mine are off of a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500
