Why the new S63 is the ultimate AMG!

At last, the new Mercedes-AMG S63 has landed now with a hybrid twist! Not just an S63, this is now the S63 E-Peformance. It s the latter bit that hints towards the power of this German luxury machine. A familiar 4. 0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine sits under the bonnet, however it's now also paired up with an electric motor at the rear axle. It s a similar setup to the latest AMG GT 4-Door, however here the two combine to produce 802hp and 1, 430Nm of torque! The result? A claimed 0-60mph time of 3. 3 seconds, and an impressive 180mph top speed. As a result of all the batteries and the motor though, weight is up too - with the new S63 tipping the scales at a whopping 2, 520kg. Gulp. There are a few subtle AMG tweaks to the S63. Along with a new grille, it gets AMG-specific wheels and an intimidating quad-exit exhaust pipe that s a dead giveaway to the performance hiding underneath the skin. Inside, it s as luxurious as any S-Class should be - albeit with an AMG steering wheel and some new displays to add that performance touch. The price is big though, starting at 186, 015. Brilliant review by matt. The S Class Mercedes is the best luxury saloon out there. In London it is the car used mainly by chauffeurs. Bentley and Rolls Royce are used in second and third place. If you do want a hybrid version you do not need to buy one. BMW and Audi are not used by chauffeurs hardly at all. I have personally asked them why they prefer this car. They told me the following comfort. Smooth and ride quality. They are not looking for the best lap time car or fastest performance car out there. If you want that get a Porche Gt3 Rs or Amg Gt Black. Someone wants to be sat in the back of the car relaxed and psychologically in their own comfort zone. This car provides that.

It's a bonkers price because it's an anomaly vehicle.
V8s are over unfortunately. We won't see them again.
It doesn't perform in C mode because it's not targeted at anyone who should use it in that mode. It's basically limp mode for emergency.
Rad car, but way too overpriced. I love it though, and I bet there will barely anything else like it.

In a world where we can have over 1000 bhp from just electric only, why on earth have TWO power sources, and make it complex to manage? I'm also not convinced that the way it deploys the power is fluid or dynamic enough. Lucid seems a better solution.

i find it crazy how i live near all these californian press events lol. few days ago i saw an integra type s getting off the same toll road (ca-73) that mat was on in this video lol
i saw the road during the highway section and went WAIT A MINUTE. lmao

So how many gonna be sold in UK 50 perhaps or I m exaggerating, speed cameras everywhere. May as well do walk. what is limit speed on uk motorway let me gees perhaps 100 km. Who wants to buy this perhaps people who drive so slowly that annoying everyone.

Weighs the same as a herd of elephants, with the boot space of a Corsa and requires you to drive in permanent sports mode so it doesn't turn the engine off. All for what is getting on to supercar cost. Another triumph for plug in hybrids and EV's.

Confort is meant to you drive with electricity only and when battery is empty its gonna drive on gas. Drive b mode that will keep the battery typed up but driven on battery when regen charges the engine

Does this particular car came with MBUX interior package as standard or equipped as option Matt? That might explain why the gesture control doesn't work (if you're not simply doing it incorrectly of course)

Sports S Class? What is the point? I can t see Rolls-Royce making a sports version of the Phantom. These cars are all about comfort and style, not how fast you can go round the Nurburgring.

Great Car but why is it not possible to make a real Exhaust Pipe? Come on! it is just a smal pipe between the tips and the exhaust: D saving 50 bucks? for a Car like that! its a shame!

No 0-100 test? I am disappointed. Mercedes is probably lying about that 3. 3s. It is probably closer to 4s which is slower than the previous model. At least it's more expensive.

Ultimate luxury 4-door but you need another car to carry your luggage. Pointless. Just get the S-class and have enough left over for a nice little 2-seater.

That looks so much better than the E Class. I love the E Class but Mercedes completely ruined it with those outrageous tail lights. Thankfully the S63 was spared.

First we do at my shop after 7, 568 miles, when the motor goes bad, we replace with the Predator motor. So it can last longer than any Mercedes-Benz motor.

Sh t that interior looks plush. I dig the colour combo too. Very very nice. Not for me, esp considering the s. I ll take a M3 touring thanks.

Way to luxurious for me. I don't need all this heavy comfort and hybrid crap! I'd rather have a car that's actually fun to drive!

3, 3 secs to 100 km from a freaking S class? Those are Ferrari and Lambo numbers from a car that weighs a full ton more.
