Though bolts best tightened with vehicle weight on wheels on the ground or an alignment rack, I would probably just place a floor stand under the center of the front cross member, and and screw jack floor stand under the back of the rear diff and jack the rear axle assembly up carefully until the vehicle starts to get a little light on the rear lift arm pads then tighten down the shackle nuts and bolts. Suspension bushings will thank you by offering a little more supple ride and last longer if the fasteners are tightened in the positions they naturally be with the vehicle's weight on the wheels.

Man, I'm glad I watched your vid, I was about to push them bushings out, least on the spring side. That sure saved some work and headache. I think one of the best investments I have ever made was that astro master ball joint press. That c press is a monster and I think I have used it for everything but pressing out ball joints. The washer trick did the job, though a little less money to buy some short bushings too to take up slack also. The c press would have worked, but it was certainly easier and less wrangling that heavy c press to use the washers.

Hey Eric, your videos are a form of therapy for me. Youre so patient and persistent in your videos. I used to get really frustrated and throw tools and start cursing the manufacture and all sorts of craziness. Not quite sure what goes on after the cameras off but just so you know watching your videos helps me to remain calm when working on a vehicle. Thanks brother.

Nock a hole in the quarter panel! : ) You need to turn on a fan when doing jobs like this Eric. Only need the low setting. I know it's cold up there and that makes you freeze. But the dirt in your sinuses and in your eyes is nuts.

No clue why they don't make a CPC compound for vehicles. We had it for the aircraft eye I was in the military
Shit was amazing! Had three different types with the type 3 being the thickest, and longest lasting.

I had this done on my blazer and I gave the mechanic energy suspension bushings with the grease it came with and wow much better than the rubber every 4 years they need to be regressed no more buying rubber again

Where is the exhaust on this truck? I am preparing to tackle this job myself on my 04 Sport Trac and I am wondering if my exhaust will get in the way? Mine exits out the passenger side behind the wheel.

If that was a Florida Explorer the customer could do the job with jack stands and a breaker bar lol. I love how easily I can remove the bolts on my 2000 since it barely even has surface rust.
