Mazda MX-5 epic road trip - incredible 860km drive to the most northerly point in Europe

With nothing more than a set of spiked tyres, a walkie-talkie and a bottle of water, our man James Batchelor attempts to drive a 2. 0-litre Mazda MX-5 from Lule- in Sweden to the Nordkapp in Norway - the most northerly point accessible by road in Europe. It-s a distance of 860km on snowy, icy roads, with temperatures falling to -26 degrees Celsius. How will the little two-seater roadster cope? It-s definitely going to be an epic road trip

James, you should been there, in the Arctic, when the temperature drops to -50, or -58 fahrenheit. That's cold, when the plastic pieces breaks like crispbread. When you have to drive very slowly the first half hour to make the tires turn round. Your mobile phone has stopped working for a long time, and if the engine stops, you will die if you do not have enough clothes.

Hmm, the road switches from ice to tarmac then snow again so there had to be quite a back up crew to change and carry the studded and non-studded tyres around because you can not fit even one wheel in the boot of an ND. There's no way you can do that trip unsupported as the video implies.

The MX-5. The best real world sports car. Period.
You disagree? You are a novice and ignoring it. Keep dreaming of the brand new 911 you will never have. Oh yeah, you have the solution, you will buy a used and fat BMW. LOL loser.

They are great cars but I-ve found the engines lacking as std. I do enjoy embarrassing ND owners in my Mk1 Eunos Roadster that I-ve turbocharged though, the looks on their faces are gold!

ive owned 6 miatas up here in Alaska, they do just fine in snow, ice and 40 below
the ND miata with abs, traction control etc would be a breeze

It's sad how barely anyone buys this brilliant car, if sales numbers continue to decline there will be no MX-5 in the future.

If you keep plastering 'clickbait' stuff like 'incredible' and 'epic' and 'colossal' on you videos, I may just stop watching.
