This is how the 2017 Civic Type R beat the 2014 car's previous record time at the Green Hell. For more on the lap, click here Omar: nice video, it probably would be a bigger hit with car geeks like me if you showed the speed, of OLD civic, show i could compare the different trap speeds at the various corners, and inclines, like u did in the new one. I kinda prefer the helmet cam view in the new, but the end result of this close angle is a better looking helmet at the expense of too much lens flare or sunlight. So i guess the old civic lap time has better looking visuals, in some aspects, and i do like that they include the Top speed of the old civic on the long straight, whereas in the New civic track footage, I have to Really look at the source, the Speedometer, covered using my zealous obsessiveness, to cloak my carnut Ego as glance & calculate the 9km Advantage of the new civic 279km vs 270km. Not a minor thing, If i have to comment i can say that the new civic is fully in the realm of Supercar performance, faster than a Ferrari 430 if my memory serves correct & within 10 seconds of the first gen new GTR. whoa keep it up honda. Imagine the old non turbo model is just 7 seconds slower and is skating on the outskirts of Supercar performance, and about as fast the first two generation GTR's, all that with no turbos. Ever since i once drove a normal, basic second generation integra sedan, I noticed the immense handling difference over my moms 94 Corolla. It was the Herbie of Corollas because it had a unusual engine, that would come alive in the third & still had pick up in the fourth, it would tilt your head back, but it was enough to give me goosebumps at high speed. The intergra on the other hand handle way better, much more road feel than the numb corolla and much faster, than my faster than other normal herbie, must've been the twin spark platinum plugs. Nonetheless I am sure if i was driving the integra, I would've have crashed and terminated my driving contract with my mothers good graces. Tho it was a bind corner, at he maximum limit of dry adhesion, with water trickling from above, settled in the apex that was hidden, not shown by the headlight until too late. The integra felt so much better, I just know or feel in retrospect i could've save it. My mother eventually forgave me, where one night crystallized tires on her new used jdm sofly sprung cedia, cause the rear to start -fishtailing- over uneven, triangle peaked, slope from center to both sides road, plus uneven cause oversteer with slight inputs in a FWD car on a straight road. To correct that i had to floor the throttle to initiate weight transfer back on the rear to settle the car, it still failed & i eventually went off road & crashed in a tree. Hmmn wheres a good dual shock when u need one, the seatbelt work & i saw in bullet time or maxpayne neo slow mo, it exploded right in front of my face & the dust stinged like heated RED hot comet stardust. It utrns out that driving laid back like a pimp with seats slid all the way back, plus reclined all the & tilted circumvents the need for the airbag. The bigger problem was that that failed throttle input, came at the sacrifice of proper driving etiquette or a reckless overtake that scared the shits out of an oncoming driver in his Integra, what a coincidence. This man didn't care that i had just written of my car into a tree or could be in need of medical attention after crawling out shaking up. Nope, Rather than that he wanted to wave hos gunin my face & cuss about how i scared him to death or nearly killed him & his girlfriend huh, i looked at him like dude it wasn't deliberate i was tyring to regain control, i
almost died too, as the shattered & brusied up front of my mom's car revealed, with a tree growing out the bonnet like it was planted their, like the red leaves on TOP of on a roman galea helmet. I started to ignore him lamenting the fact that my moms gonna probably kill me, he was just angry because he probably bruised his manhood infront of his & girl & wanted to regain it by waiving his gun in my face, she probably look back from the 30-50 feet he parked & walked all the way back with glee like u tell him baby, or not. She could be wondering why i'm not dead yet and was waiting in the driver seat, like hurry up. His lingo, tone & choice of words sounded like the commonly used police jargon, in body language too. I don get why he was so upset because i really middled the road with both banks of tires over the sloped center, & never really crossed over fully into his lane, all he needed to do was reduce speed & go to the side, I guess nights & headlights magnified the danger. Perhaps if my coworker Jermaine wasn't there with me & it was I alone he would've shot me and not point the gun to th ground while still threatening & cussing so quickly. I know my coworker also wished he was able to drive & not just watch from the passenger seat, i don't think he hate me either, after he left the company for other reasons & we met up years later working for different companies, on different floors, but in the same building, he wasn't really Somebody to me, until that & days after when her joked about me, not taking serious the interga guy with the gun, cussing me out, in any case Light Skinned Jermaine seemed cordial & genuinely glad to see me alive & us both doing fine in better jobs after all these years, not holding any grudges of course, because I didn't killed him. I wonder how he felt about me being a Driving technician i the same building, he probably wondered who would put me behind a wheell. Hmmn Same building either thats a coincidence or he pull some strings along with the other interga driver to get me to kill myslef, lol current humorous retrospective thought, didn't think so then, That Integra though, I just followed some friends to pick up a car like a junkyard find, put some wheels on it after a boring uneventful bus ride, & even after being parked for a about a year i am told, not aligned & balanced, the car still drove better than anything i had driven before. If anything I just learned that after working late, being tired & sleepy, never raid the staff nescafe coffee machine & get hopped up on about 5 cups of French Vanilla, The Adrenaline shot, would've probably killed me if the accident never happened using up the boost, that i was rushing to go home before it ran out, it still didn't years later, however now it is & i'm driving like miss Daisy is in the car, yeah she's dead, but I'm not just fully awake & aware with plans to keep it that way.

But can the wife get he shopping in it? It's a Civic afterall - a car for the dull and retired.
And really, who cares about these lap times? It's a hatchback. With seats for your retirement dogs, and a big boot, and fwd safety.

This Civic type R only has a turbocharged 2. 0-liter inline-four good for 306 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, i wonder what the curb weight has to be lbs? for it to have such a good lap time?

Pity it's look so damm ugly.
Wouldn't buy one dispite it being pointlessly quick around a German racetrack which im never going to go to.
Take the golf r or focus rs all day.

Fast. I guess. Fun? It sure looks like he's having to fight understeer all the way around. Even more on the new car than the old one. Looks more like work than fun.

at the beginning and you can see that even if in reality they are very close on the minimaps they are miles away
how to make us think the new is much faster!

Chassis and suspension is rock hard just bouncing around and a lot of flailing at the wheel. Doesn't make a nice noise either. Not for me
