As someone who is also 6’5, I appreciate that you show how someone tall could fit in some of these vehicles. Going forward, would like to hear a line about about their thoughts on driver comfort in these reviews. Other than Mike Danger (6’4, KBB, there really aren’t many tall car journalists out there.

The JGC is not really cheap like you said if you compared Apple to Apple. When u look for the grand Cherokee air suspension and 2 speed transfer case, it’s already 70k in the summit or overland, and u still have to suffer with the under power pentastar and no locker. It’s cheaper to go defender at that point

Always enjoy Alex's reports. However, his comparisons do not make sense. The Defender is not comparable to the cars Alex chose as alternatives. Except the Jeep. Incidentally, as a Brit, it hurts me to tell you JLR is owned by the Indians, Tata group and is built in Slovakia. Changing times my friends,

I’m surprised you released this now without discussing the new Lexus GX. That’s the comparison: GX/LC, Grand Cherokee, and Defender. All more off road capable than the BMW/Audi options you noted, all more luxurious and far better on road than Wrangler, Bronco or Grenadier.

Just who sits in the MIDDLE seat of the 2nd row In the HISTORY of the entire planet, if you have 5 passengers with an available 3rd row, who says I'd rather sit in the middle instead of the 3rd row
NOBODY! Stop putting in bench seats FFS.

There are 4 taillights in the rear because of European regulatory standards indicating that you must be able to see both sets of taillights at certain angles (the spare tire would be blocking it if it weren’t for the small ones on the outside)

With all that headroom in third row, and considering you are not short, they should have raised those seats up a few inches. Would have given a more normal seating position in the third row.

So damned attractive. Sorry, with the arrival of the new GX, this doesn't seem as good a choice. I really don't want to visit my dealer as often as the Defender (or Sport) will demand.

Alex, At least you will have the video evidence if you ever have to make a workers compensation claim for injuries sustained in an undersized third row.

you said next year for Defender 130, do you mean 2025 or it was 2023 filmed this one so it's 2024 Honestly they are pretty much the same except the 3rd row

i drive a defender 110 irl, it’s a fun car to drive and it hasn’t had much problems. in terms of usability, it’s extremely capable and manuverable

At this point reliability shouldn’t matter to you
I’d personally splurge for the 130 with the 5. 0L SC V8. That v8 sounds so good

Grand Cherokee is not worth buying. I couldn’t wait to get rid of my 2021-it felt like I was just waiting for the next problem all the time.

the defender has missed the mark completely for the Land Rover heritage of off-roading, one can only get 18 wheels with the 4cyl option.

Alex, you should measure your hands. When you say 4 of legroom with your spread fingers, it's actually probably double.
