I head to the Bushcraft Camp in the Forest for a day of Fire Lighting Skills with Alec Steele, the incredible Blacksmith Youtuber Chloe Hennessey: Alec you need an ESEE 5 or a 6 for bushcraft Id recommend a few others but theyre spendy. But well worth it. Ive had my ESEE 5 for awhile now and theres nothing I cant do with it and a Stihl Timber Cruiser. Yes I could have bought a boutique axe but the Stihl was 36 dollars and it does what I need it too.

Watching him light the fire was amazing I loved hearing you explain the small details of what you're doing too Maybe it seems like common knowledge for bushcraft, but I'm new to it and will soak up any of that information

This was awesome. Thank you for sharing this with us, but now Alec is sampling prime beef, elk, and buffalo in Montana USA. You need to visit him now and shoot a wilderness video or two there, and eat some steaks too

I had to decide to make exactly that hunti hidey on the back of my farm and up on our mountain hunting acreage. Steak, bangers and cigars would justify living out there and growing garden off the grid

That hatchet is no where around weight of his hammer and when he does some good old fashioned blacksmithing it just builds up his swing strength with a heavy tool. But with a light tool.

idk why, but i get super annoyed seeing alec hold his tools halfway up the handle. I understand he has a whole lot of experiance with it, but he gets less levereage, and it bothers me.
