My first time experiencing a camping trip in a cube shaped sauna tent from Finland. Converting the sauna tent into a camping tent and cooking on the woodstove. Great fun! You need minimum of 60C on wood burning sauna, with electric 80-100C. after you have used it to bath you can let it dry and sleep in it like hot tent, those stones will have heat for hours after the fire is gone. It is how we sleep in lot of hunting trips. Al tough we have half platoon tent that we use. You have your lot in the woods so do like Finn and build sauna first. You have trees to use on it and make a log sauna like we do! What we do for snacks in sauna we put sausage in tinfoil on top of the rocks. After the sauna you can eat nicely done sausages. And most important thing NO CLOTHING IN SAUNA!

Pro safety tip from a finn. Never ever pour water on a sauna stove from a cup, allways use a ladle with a handle. The steam can and will cause you severe burns. But otherwise a fine example of a tent sauna. And on the topic of having a permanent sauna on your woodland property is simply a must, as a finn I see no other way. Love your content, keep calm and camp on!

I believe that you could actually cook some amount of meat or other food using those hot stones after sauna bathing. Just put the food rapped in aluminum foil or even just wet newspaper inside the pile of rocks when you pile them up off of the stove. Just make sure that the rocks don't get dirty. Otherwise the sauna experience will go bad because of the smell.

Pronounced SAOONA. The one Finnish word that has been adopted internationally and they are justly proud of it. Courteous to try and pronounce it as per a Finn. So I was told. Great piece of kit - Savotta are a great company. You need a bucket of cold water to throw over yourself after.

Of the 100% of mammals left on this planet 95% of them is the meat we eat the other 5% is what is left of wild life in this world, of the 100% of birds in this world 75% of that is what we eat the other 25% is what is wild in this world, have fun with your air riffle bud.

I don't know why, but this was especially satisfying. I remember as a kid we had a friend with a sauna out back. There was nothing like getting all toasty and the laying in the snow just long enough to make a snow angel, then going back in to warm back up.

Sir. What the heck with those nachos Chips, then taco meat, then refried beans, top with cheese, bake. Once cheese is melty, top with sour cream, salsa, and guacamole. Optional spicy nacho cheese sauce. I love your work, but this. Just no.

If you are considering building a permanent sauna on your property, you might want to research Native American sweat lodges, which are basically saunas. One of those would be much easier for you to construct out there at your base camp.

I noticed that the bench swivels sideways a bit and there seems to be a loose stick/plank under it moving losely at 10: 05. Came to mind that maybe that is for the purpose of steadying it by attaching it somehow diagonally Just guessing here.

Great video as always Mike. Looking forward to the next. Still would like a explore with you to train me in all things survival. Guess that's not what you do and don't blame you.

I have looked through all of your links and cannot find where you bought that carbon monoxide detector with humidity and temperature gauge. Can you please provide a link

When summer arrives and temps rise over 25C, I find it agonazing. However in sauna I feel like everything under 75C is chilly. Funny how the (Finnish) human body works.

Love the portable sauna idea. Also, very impressive ink. Retired USN Chief Petty Officer here, so have my fair share of ink. Stay safe.

Pre grated cheese is coated with cornflour (cornstarch in the US) so it does not melt so well also you can taste it sometimes as well.

The long & wide stakes are a lot better than regular ones if you use the tent in winter, as they get more purchase through snow and icy ground.
reply

as a finn I recommed to heat bit longer with door closed so the temperature can rise more. I personally like saunas around 80 C degrees
