I was surprised to find that the familiar Kyoto night that I have visited many times now looks like an ''(ethnic and stylish) movie made overseas and set in Japan'' in this video. There is no need to use CG or sets, and the world seems to change depending on your ''perspective''.
Also, I particularly like the part where ''look to something is about to appear''. Kyoto is an ancient city that traditionally follows Shintoism, so it is a mystical city that is very compatible with motifs such as Onmyo-do, yokai, and yu-rei.
In Japanese culture, these subjects are not just scary, but very familiar. In some ways, it's a lot like magic or fairies.

nah wu tang protect your neck and my dad put me in a choke hold, nah but you only have two parents i wouldn't give certain people the time of day, but you know it is what it is, yea i know that was replaced by motorcycles and running and movies and cold beer and spicy food, anthony bourdain it made me realize there was more there is always more, even when everyone is againist you seriously or jokingly there is always more there is always tomorrow.

A night in walk in Japan: Quiet, very nice walk, friendly people passing by.
A night walk in America: Gunshots, can't leave your house without getting robbed, shot, murdered, you look at somebody wrong and they might just kill you.

The same street of the same size in South East Asia would be a lot of trash, cigarette bud, cat and dog poop, probably human poop and piss along the way, noise pollution from loud exhaust low-iq people motorcycle and vehicle.
