The bridge is not totally a 'White Elephant Project', for me if I would like to go HK or come back to Macao, bus is a better option for me just because it's cheaper and the time cost is less, depends on the accommodation I live in Macao and the work place in HK, but I think if the bridge can extend to Shenzhen should be better, because it can shorten the time from Shenzhen to Zhuhai or Macao.

the reason why some macau areas are run down, is the same as in Lisbon, laws from the 1960s that froze rents, meaning most families there are paying same rent as in the 1970s, prob. like 50 bucks month, maybe thats changed for the most part.

Macau Chinese in the outside, Portuguese inside. I find the people way more friendlier than mainland Chinese and other asian countries. cool place, nice people!

love macau better than hongkong. Macau is more laid back and slower. Hongkong people are so intense like new yorker LOL everyone is busy.
