I'm going to Leipzig, Germany in a few weeks. This is my very first trip overseas. I am excited.
Do you have any additional tips for me? I have watched your Germany dos and dont's video.
I have a couple questions:
1. I am vaccinated with the Maderna shot. I got the 2nd shot a month ago. Do I need to get vaccinated again, or is the CDC card and passport enough?
2. How does going through customs work?
3. Is 100 a day a comfortable spending budget?
4. I will be there for 4 days, can you make any recommendations for activities?
Thank you.

15-20% tip, never mind the quality? Insane. Tipping is about your level of satisfaction. If you find the place below standard: leave the food and pay 0 tip. Never go back. If at least one thing was good: 5% tip. If most of the meal was good: 10% tip. If everything was good, with minor mistakes: 15% tip. If everything was top quality: 20% tip. That is the tip code I use. My money, my rules. Sorry.

Asking for ID in the United States. The reason why is not because of losing liquor licenses. that is a consequence. The very simplistic explanation is that it is assumed that anyone under 21 will be a drunk driver if they consume alcohol. In the mid 1980's, States were threatened by the federal government with the loss of federal highway funding if they did not raise the drinking age to 21.

The asking for ID thing when buying alcohol is real, I used to work in a restaurant and they told me that if I or anyone serves to someone underage, the fine was $1000 for the person, the store loses their liquor license and the person who sold the alcohol can go to court. So please dont get mad when asked for your ID.

why would anyone ever pay someone to be fake nice to them?
I don't care about companies. I care about people being genuine and genuinely nice to me not just cause they want my money. It's disgusting.
Not my fault they can't get a job where they get paid. I pay the bill, I'm good and done. Nothing cheap here.

Funny story; Once my dad wanted to buy some Jack Daniels, but my mom had his passport. She went to the bathroom, so he didn't have it on him for a sec. But my then JUST turned-21 boyfriend stepped in and bought it for him. My dad was well over 50 back then. It was hilarious!

It's ol' Americans are super friendly and helpful and you should talk to them, vs in videos about Europe it's Everyone is trying to rob you or scam you if they find out you're a tourist. You sure there isn't just a liiiitle bit of bias towards your home country here.
