Destin FL - A Travel Guide for The Emerald Coast Destin is HIGHLY, HIGHLY OVERRATED! Go to Panama City instead! Destin is so overdeveloped you can barely see the beach driving through town. The traffic is a nightmare during peak season. Have a restaurant you want to visit five miles from your hotel or condo It might take you 40 minutes to get there, 40 minutes back. Hotels and condos are overpriced, not nearly as much to do there as in Panama City, 45 minutes up the road. Panama City carefully planned their development and still has miles and miles of shoreline that is still undeveloped and access points all along the way where you can park and enjoy your day on the beach. Hotels and condos are cheaper. Ten times the number of restaurants, malls, bars, and shopping centers. Traffic is only bad during spring break. Hell, even the spring break traffic is pretty much equal to daily traffic in Destin. Far more amusement parks, state parks, three fishing piers, two of them over 1600 ft long. All on the same white sand beaches as Destin. I once saw a poll on a travel site that asked if you have been to both Destin and Panama City, which one do you prefer Over 1500 participants, 70% picked Panama City. Thank me later.

After my wife died me and my son started coming to Destin every year this is going to be our fifth year I think I'll go again in May or we do and oh my goodness this guy is showing all these places this is an awesome video for somebody who has never been so much there to do and yes it's expensive but for a week oh my goodness so worth it we stay at the Pelican Beach Resort but there are so many different resorts like he said in this video though you got to call well in advance I usually do my booking on the resort in December to go in May the parking at the boardwalk in Destin is now 20 not 10 but if you save to go on vacation it's still worth it or if you have money you don't care about go go go go go he will be so glad you did just that water in the sand the water is so clear in the sand is so white in person I walk the beach for hours and hours and hours and hours at a time

all those people in the water with no bathrooms in sight. imagine the amount of pee in the water. Ill be honest the video was very well done but it looks boring to me. all the same activities. eat sleep and shit. thats all I see people doing. I can stay home and do all these things. it all looks so congested and dirty. If im gonna go that far im going to Disney World. More of a 1 stop shop for fun. Nothing beats a Disney vacation. the vibe just hits different. The beach is fun for about an hour then what

Never understood how people complain about a vacation spot with crystal clear beaches like destin being overcrowded Yeah its within the US so less expensive and safer than traveling internationally and its HOT outside obviously everyone wants a piece of that good life. If it bothers you enough that other people want the same thing ypu do then dont go, you dont own the beach and it sounds so contradicting and selfish

Does the color of the water change with the seasons or months We were in Destin at Silver Shells in October two years ago and the water did not look like all the pictures and videos here and online. we are going in 3 weeks, August 19 - Sept 3. hope the weather is good since it will be hurricane season and I hope we can see beautiful water this time!

My family has been spending our summer vacation in Destin for over 40 years. We've seen it change for both the good and bad. That said, I still look forward to our yearly beach trip as much as I did back when I was a kid. We've made life-long friends and had so many great memories. I can't wait to return next July.

Lived in Ft Walton back in early to mid 70s, back when Destin was in fact a sleepy little fishing village. It was beautiful back then. It has now been ruined by all the concrete and high rises. such a shame to destroy such natural beauty.

I love Destin were going back next month before the end of the month. We stayed at the Embassy Suites last time still looking for a hotel on those dates rates have increased massively.

Stay away from Destin, the place is ruined. Overcrowded, extremely expensive, heavy traffic, etc. If you do come, you might need to take out a 401K loan to stay a week. The place is ruined!

I'm not likely to ever make it here so thank you for letting me see it vicariously through your eyes ; ) I haven't been to ANY beach since 2011 so the seaside is very much missed!

Destin, Florida is great and known for the luckiest fishing ville. Best two boats to go on for a deep sea fishing trip is the Destiny and Destin Princess

It’s nothing like it was before it got over developed, over run and over done by some very greedy people who ruined it.

Try the seafood at The Back Porch, especially the bronzed grilled Mahi Mahi. Also, breakfast at the Donut Hole is a must!

Skipped right over the town of Grayton beach, the Red Bar, Chiringo's and Blue Mountain Beach. Probably the best of all 30A
