I remember telluride from the 1960's/70 when dogs were sleeping in the street in front of the old bank and hippies were walking down the street barefooted and poppies were growing in the empty lots of the main street and back street ruins. I was a kid camping at the city campground there at the box end of the town with my parents. I remember the drive out of there taking a left and going straight up and my dad talking about how he bet you could buy land there cheap and how gorgeous it was. Definitely a different world.

I'm trying to plan a 7 to 10 day trip to show my 75 yr old father Colorado which I've been to many times, him never. I'm wanting to show him Ouray to Estes Park, to eventually drive down the front range along the foothills to Boulder then fly out of Denver. So hard to plan as there's little time and so much I'd like him to see. Great video, gave me some ideas so thank you.

Seeking recommendations! I am coming from Texas & will fly into Denver then drive to Telluride, Ouray & Durango. Would you recommend 1 hotel for Telluride & Ouray then another for Durango & Silverton I am 2 days into planning this very trip when I discovered your video. I cannot thank you enough for creating this all inclusive video. Absolutely perfect!

Good video, just a few errors.
BLACK BEAR PASS ROAD is one way from RED MOUNTAIN PASS-TELLURIDE
As a pilot KTEX holds a special place in my heart, it is not the highest airport in the US, that is KLXV Leadville, Colorado at 9934’ vs KTEX 9070’, KTEX is the highest with schedule air carrier service.

Grew up in Ouray in the '60s. How it has changed. My parents owned the Ashley house 2 block up from the Beaumont Hotel. Fantastic video of the views. The reason for no guardrails on Million Dollar Hiway is so that county & state snowplow can push the snow over the edge of the road in winter.

Excellent vid with very professional photography and drone work. Not to mention your flawless editing. I know well what is required and appreciate your work. Plus the Telluride - Ouray - Silverton area is my favorite in all of Colorado. KUDOS.

100% agree. Best travel video. Obviously a true professional. It seems travel is not your main gig so appreciate you sharing your art. I have no doubt every local CVB would want to purchase footage. Well at least they should.

This video sheds a beautiful light on Colorado that isn't correct. Its expensive and crowded in Colorado. If you want that train ride expect to pay top dollar and expect long lines where you are treated like cattle. you won't have fun

Heck yeah! I want to do this! I’m going to have suv so I can actually sleep in back so I don’t have to buy hotel every night. So I will fly in somewhere (Durango, Colorado Springs, grand junction) and drive. Any suggestions

These Mountain Cities are Beautiful, but who on Earth approved these Roads Especially on the Million Dollar Highway, how is there no Guardrail to protect those Tourist Drivers Like Excuse me. I like that fact about the Train

Great drone shots Great back stories. Great insights
Can’t imagine how many chargers and battery packs you travel with.
Taking care of your cameras, accessories AND Bella!
You are an organized and ambitious man

Ouray Chalet Inn was just recently turned into affordable housing for the locals. I had stayed there a few times and loved the place. The price of a room there was unbeatable. The secret is out about Ouray.

Great video, thank you. We have a trip planned here a month from now. We are doing the train for sure, and taking our Jeep on a bunch of the mountain trails. Also doing the gondola ride. Hope your arm heals quick.

In case someone hasn’t said this, Black Bear Pass has a section that is one way only. So you have to start on the Ouray side to go to Telluride. Not the other way around.

It is very expensive! We used to ride the area on motorcycles which gives a unique way of seeing the area. Beautiful area and a different attitude many people here live by.

I’m leaving my home in Fort Lauderdale on March 1st to stay in Ridgway. It will be my accommodation base for snowboarding in Telluride. I might do the train into Silverton

Definitely would add Mouse's Chocolates & Coffee on the main drag across from rooftop brewery. And China Clipper Inn, a block down, excellent buffet breakfast included

What you showed was not the Hot Springs Inn. You showed the condos that are on a different property owned by someone else just past it. But the address you put is correct

Glad I saw this area a couple of decades ago before it was turned into a tourist carnival.
The nature is as wonderful as ever, just with a ticket to see a tree (ugh.

This is my nature getaway area. I live in Grand Junction so this is roughly a two hour drive. I love knowing this is all just a hop skip and a jump away.
